Two grey offspring took BOTH COLOR AND RESERVE COLOR CHAMPION GREY FEMALES in a recent show! No other full Accoyos can boast this rare quality! Progeny Championships in white, fawn, brown, and greys! Sired by the now deceased El Nino (one of Accoyo Caligula's best offspring. El Nino was the 2004 AOBA Get of Sire, and was the 2005 Light Futurity Herdsire of the Year!). With El Nino's recent passing, Michelangelo has become one of his most prepotent progeny! To lose such a legendary macho in his prime makes the genetics of his top offspring even more critical to a well thought out serious breeding program. Michelangelo has that extremely dense fine high amplitude crimp, and an incredibly even "peach colored" fawn fleece. In late 2005 Dr. Norm Evans did a skin biopsy of this spectacular male, and he had a follicle density of an amazing 115 follicles/mm! (Post-calibration results were adjusted to 107 follicles/mm) His S/P ratio was an astounding 13.28/1! These are still unheard of statistics, and he PASSES THEM ON!

Blueberry Wine is sired by Patagonia’s Quijote, and grandsired by the infamous Danko..one of the top grey lineages of all time. Quijote is owned by Canzelle Alpacas in California, and one of the things we treasure about this girl is her genetics that are far from the “same old Midwestern genetics”. A proven DSG dam with a champion full sibling, she has great stature, soft fleece and a great producer. Her 2011 cria, Bordeaux, is a medium brown male, sired by Leonardo. He is a top quality male, and took blue at an early spring show this year. She was bred to Accoyo Michelangelo and had a spectacular rose grey half Accoyo offspring earlier this spring! Michelangelo has done a great job for us producing top quality greys, and this should be no exception. She will be showing in our fall show string! Wine's last year cria is a Blue Ribbon winning male that we have chosen to keep, sired by our own Accoyo Leonardo! She is now rebred to the Michelangelo for a repeat performance.

Awakening is co-owned with Brenda Weber of BlueRidge Alpaca Ranch outside of La Crosse, WI. We are thrilled to have Michelangelo's Awakening. He is a show champion and an established sire of champion off-spring. Usually he produces the color of the dam, especially for grey (his dam was grey). His crias are outstanding - fine and dense. Silver Sistine, Sooper Trooper and Tokyo Smoke (at Blue Ridge Alpacas) have brought home blue, purple, and orange ribbons. Come see them and make your decision for your next breedings. You won't be disappointed. Show winnings and Judges comments about Awakening: At Minnesota Alpaca Expo 2014: 1st place out of a class of 8 dark brown juvie males and a Reserve Championship. Judge Peter Kennedy comments, “At 7 months of age he is beautifully grown, very balanced showing a great level of maturity. He is extremely fine, very well organized, beautiful level of brightness with the level of organization, very uniform in his micron. Beautiful softness of hand, a great deal of density overall.” At AOA Nationals 2014: 1st Place out of a class of 9 dark brown juvenile males. Judge Diana Timmerman comments, "He has a super fine fleece, it has incredible brightness and is very well nourished. It shows excellent architecture throughout and the character extends the length of the staple, it is also evident all the way through and all those characteristics give him great density." At Railsplitter 2014: 1st place out of a class of 6 brown juvenile males and the Color Championship for brown males. Judge Peter Kennedy commentts, “Showing a great level of maturity for his age with a beautiful level of coverage. Very true to type. The fleece is extremely fine showing excellent amplitude with his high frequency crimp style through his entire blanket and everywhere I looked it was all the same. Very well organized and great density. It is opening up very cleanly and is very bright, with a beautiful soft hand.”
