Awakening is co-owned with Brenda Weber of BlueRidge Alpaca Ranch outside of La Crosse, WI. We are thrilled to have Michelangelo's Awakening. He is a show champion and an established sire of champion off-spring. Usually he produces the color of the dam, especially for grey (his dam was grey). His crias are outstanding - fine and dense. Silver Sistine, Sooper Trooper and Tokyo Smoke (at Blue Ridge Alpacas) have brought home blue, purple, and orange ribbons. Come see them and make your decision for your next breedings. You won't be disappointed. Show winnings and Judges comments about Awakening: At Minnesota Alpaca Expo 2014: 1st place out of a class of 8 dark brown juvie males and a Reserve Championship. Judge Peter Kennedy comments, “At 7 months of age he is beautifully grown, very balanced showing a great level of maturity. He is extremely fine, very well organized, beautiful level of brightness with the level of organization, very uniform in his micron. Beautiful softness of hand, a great deal of density overall.” At AOA Nationals 2014: 1st Place out of a class of 9 dark brown juvenile males. Judge Diana Timmerman comments, "He has a super fine fleece, it has incredible brightness and is very well nourished. It shows excellent architecture throughout and the character extends the length of the staple, it is also evident all the way through and all those characteristics give him great density." At Railsplitter 2014: 1st place out of a class of 6 brown juvenile males and the Color Championship for brown males. Judge Peter Kennedy commentts, “Showing a great level of maturity for his age with a beautiful level of coverage. Very true to type. The fleece is extremely fine showing excellent amplitude with his high frequency crimp style through his entire blanket and everywhere I looked it was all the same. Very well organized and great density. It is opening up very cleanly and is very bright, with a beautiful soft hand.”

Polar is a BEW with black eyeliner, black nose, and black foot pads and toe nails. You can see the black skin under the white hair on her face, and she does have a fawn spot up close to her eye. She has a broad deep chest and clean straight legs. She does have a long back. She is very vocal, with a high-pitched hum. Polar is very curious, but at a distance, maybe because of her being deaf. She can be a handful at times, due to her size (180 lbs). Polar has thick fiber that has beautiful brightness, but lacking any crimp characteristics at this age. Her fleece shines when the sunlight hits it, unlike any of our other whites. Yarn spun from her fleece is noticeably brighter than from the other whites. Produced a classic rose grey (!!!) boy September 2019 from Michelangelo's Awakening. His cria fleece came in with great staple length with a large amplitude crimp. Was sold before the shows started back up after the big Covid lock-downs, so never got a good evaluation of him. May 2021 brought another boy from Awakening; this one is shiny-new-penny brown, with a white face and white hairs on his ears. Has one brown eyebrow, making him cute as a button. Please ask for more details about Polar. Because Polar is deaf and relies on others, we highly recommend that she be sold with another one of our females. Will give a big discount on her price if going with a herdmate.
