Epic is a proven full Peruvian, 1/2 Accoyo, Baron son with several cria on the ground. He is passing on his fabulous fiber characteristics, sound conformation, and early maturity to his crias. He is also allowing color to pass through with several cria being dark fawn, light and dark brown. Epic's fiber is dense, has well defined, lustrous locks and excellent staple length. The consistency of his fleece characteristics helped Epic earn his blue ribbon and color championship at the 2004 GWAS show in Denver, CO. He is stamping his beautiful head on his crias, along with strong bone, straight legs and level top line. His well proportioned frame and strong, macho attitude in the breeding barn have made Epic a favorite at our ranch. Epic son, Sparticus, is a dark fawn male who was 90 pounds at 3 months of age and has his sire's fabulous lock formation, density and luster. He went on to earn multiple blue ribbons (about 10 or 12) and was reserve champion dark suri fleece at 2008 AOBA National Conference. We have sold Sparticus off the ranch in 2013. But Epic is still available, proven, and at 11 years of age is still young enough to get a plethora of cria on the ground for the lucky farm who purchases him and his champion genetics. Baron offspring have done well in the suri world and were cornestones for farms like Ben and Lynda Fisco's Humming Hill Suri Farm with their Baron Lafite. SPECIAL SURI DEAL Bella Vita Ranch has 11 suris remaining, and we saved the best for last! Buy all proven breeders for $12,000; that's less than $2000 each for the breeding stock and fiber males are free! Most of these are ribbon winners and champions or are offspring of champions. These were hand selected to continue our suri program on a smaller scale, but alas, we have come to the conclusion that we do not have the time or resources to continue both suri and huacaya programs at a level we are satisfied with. So, we are offering our remaining suris at deeply discounted prices to help get them into programs that will utilize their excellent genetics. These are proven, tried and true genetics that have created success for many alpaca farms, past and present.

Dam: CPA's Sierra

Proven producer

CPA's Sierra

SuriBred (Female)Medium Brown
AOA# 823367DOB: 10/30/200024 yrs
Sierra is a big boned, maroon suri female with black points and out of a black sire. She has excellent fiber coverage and good luster. She is a proven dam, superb mother, and her crias are big, grow fast and mature quickly, giving us a 6-month jump on our investment. Her first cria was kushing next to the male pen at 9 months of age, and at 13 monnths, she weighed 115 pounds and bred easily, producing a very healthy, good sized cria hreself. Sierra's second cria, Sparticus, was an absolutely stunning male at birth and has remained so to this date. He had good sized testicles from day one, dense, lustrous, locked, dark fawn fleece, and weighed 70+ pounds at 3 months. At 14 months he weighed 150 pounds and was as tall and big as his mother. Sierra's third cria, Contessa, is a full sister to Sparticus, and at 2 1/2 months of age, she is almost 50 pounds. Sierra is an excellent mother with, obviously, tons of milk production based on how fast her crias gain weight. And she keeps up with this challenge very well. Sierra's contributions to her crias are lots of bone, luster, early maturity, and an even temperament. She should be bred to a typey male with better defined lock structure. We have paired her 4 years in a row with our herdsire, Peruvian Epic. Last year we paired her with our dark brown/gray Pistol son, Pistol's Reload, for what should be a nice colored suri cria. All of Sierra's crias have been suri.

Description

Sparticus is a stunning male who has caused people to stop in their tracks when he walks down the aisle on a lead. I describe him as the "essence of suri". He is a prime example of our breeding philosophy, being 1/2 Peruvian, 1/2 Chilean and 1/4 Accoyo, and we hit the jackpot with this cross. Sparticus was born with locked, lustrous fleece from day one, good sized testicle at birth, and with a tall, stretchy look. He has excellent coverage with great density. To top it off, his locked, lustrous fleece grows back the same every year. He was 21.4 pounds at birth and grew rapidly, weighing 70+ pounds at 3 months and 150 pounds at 14 months. We was an early breeder, as was his sire. His dam also produces early maturing crias, females well over 100 pounds at 12 months of age and easily bred at 13 months. Early maturity gives our clients about a 6-month jump on return of investment, and it is prevalent in this young male's lineage. Sparticus hit his stride in the show ring in 2007, taking multiple blue ribbons, including a 1st place at the 2007 Suri Symposium fleece show, 1st place at the 2007 Futurity, 1st place at GWAS in yearling dark fawn males, 1st place in Produce of Dam with his full sister, Contessa. He has continued this winning record into 2008, culminating in 1st and Reserve Champion fleece at the AOBA National Show. We look forward to seeing what this male with obvious hybrid vigor will produce.
