Heads up if you want to improve your herd's fleece weight and staple length...! Hawkeye is probably the last full Accoyo fawn offspring of the legendary Accoyo El Nino, revered for his prepotency in passing his outstanding characteristics on to his offspring, and we expect no less from Hawkeye. Hawkeye's full brother, Accoyo Polaris, just sold for $100,000 at the 2012 Parade of Champions Auction! His dam, Pussywillow, was a Futurity champion with numerous illustrious offspring. El Nino was reknown for DENSITY, and he has passed this trait on to his son, Hawkeye. Hawkeye has outrageously crimping, bundling fleece, with that quality of "draping" that you only see with exceptionally dense fleece that has long staple length. Brightness? Look no further--Hawkeye's fleece will knock your socks off! And for a young male, Hawkeye has a "macho" conformation--solid with excellent bone, a level topline, and a classic Accoyo head, not to mention a perfect bite at 7 years of age! Hawkeye returned from his summer at the Firestone vineyards, and he looks MAGNIFICENT!! The new generation rises from the legacies of the great Accoyos El Nino, Caligula, Sunipani, Pussywillow, and Auzengate! When I look at Hawkeye, I am often reminded of his sire, Accoyo El Nino, and how he died outside in a winter storm, refusing to come into the barn because he was "protecting" his harem from the attentions of another herdsire (who happened to be his son!). Hawkeye looks just like his sire (in fawn), refusing to go out to the field to graze, preferring to "protect" his turf (although he rarely fights or spits--he's a very "benign" dictatior!). Hawkey's first cria, Mohican, took 3rd of 13 his first time out in the ring at the GWAS--he had barely turned 6 months of age. He is gorgeous--3 blue ribbons, and the spittin' image of his sire in white. Hawkeye also has a rose grey daughter who just took the Color Group banner (CC) at the California Classic. Hawkeye ws featured in the video on EPDs at the 2015 AOA Nationals, representing the top 1% for Fleece Weight. He is honored! Hawkeye is co-owned with Jan and Dale Davis, of Derwydd Alpacas. He is enjoying the ocean breezes of Coastal Marin County north of San Francisco, at Alpacas of Marin.

Nice EPDs, great mom, outstanding crias!

MRN Arica

HuacayaOpen (Female)Beige
AOA# 31823784DOB: 10/5/200915 yrs
Arica has grown up to be a lovely girl with fine, consistent fleece characteristics that the judges have admired. Check out her EPDs! She brings good potential for color genetics from her fawn sire, an Alpamayo Studmaster son, and from her brown dam from the Studmaster program. She comes with a breeding to any of our males, or you can use the breeding for another female. For her first breeding we took advantage of her excellent consistency of fleece and bred her to our outstanding herdsire, Accoyo America Hawkeye. This daughter. Lauca, is now one of our foundation females and she is fantastic! A white female with outstanding fine bundling, brightness, and her conformation is perfect. We followed up with a breeding to Derwydd El Nino's Accoyo Manchu, and she produced a Knock-Out champion beige male, Sun Tzu (named for his maternal grandfather). Next bred to Snowmass Best N Grace, a large male with long, draping staples and perfect conformation, and produced our MRN El Maximo (sold). Arica's 2018 cria by multi-champ MRN Prime Starrr arrived Dec. 5. This boy has show ring possibilities--medium fawn with popcorn fleece, excellent crimp and brightness! One of the things I love about Prime Starrr is his long staple length--I think he has passed this on to his son. Until the cria is weaned in the spring, Arica will sell with her cria. For her next breeding, we'd suggest our Snowmass Matrix son, MRN Matrix Lord of Sipan. He is a compact fawn male with loads of long, crimpy, fine staples. This year he sheared nearly 12% of his body weight! Arica has a pleasing personality and she is a dedicated mother with lots of milk. She is a perfect foundation female. We always said that she was the prettiest cria on the farm where she was born, and even after 4 crias she looks like a lovely young maiden. Arica has made the move to Alpacas of Marin, in the north San Francisco Bay area.

Description

Lauca was declared the best cria of the season by an experienced evaluator of alpacas. She is a very feminine girl with perfect conformation--good bone and balance, and bright white fleece with medium frequency crimp. She has an incredibly heavy fleece, and has been in the top 1% EPD for fleece weight for 6 years and counting... Her 2019 cria scored 20 out of 20 points for fleece weight in the 2020 National Fleece Show, proof that this is a heritable trait! She is a wonderful mother for her cria this year--lots of milk and her daughter grew rapidly! All of Lauca's crias are big--each has been 21 lbs or more at birth and gain around a pound a day. She has had no problems with her births--her first took a while (2 hrs) but was uncomplicated. To be honest, we missed her next 2 births--we came out to the barnyard and she presented us with a healthy, standing cria! Lauca is a calm, dignified lady, unafraid of humans and will eat out of your hand. Lauca comes with a breeding. We'd definitely suggest a re-breed to our champion Matrix grandson, Snowmass Cold Cash, who brings incredible fineness and uniformity of micron to the mix. Her last cria by Cold Cash, Chungara, is gorgeous! Lauca is at our Marin County farm in the North San Francisco Bay area.
