Wow! Take a look at all these TOP 1% EPDs, over 7 years!! Our "Cold Cash" is a BRIGHT white male with a sturdy and balanced frame, covered with dense, fine bundles of fleece. He has lovely consistency of fleece architecture from his hips to his chest, and down towards the belly. This is reflected in his incredible EPDs that have remained consistently (almost boringly) outstanding for 7 years! His sire, Snowmass Seven Below was Julie Skinner's "not-so-secret weapon" for consistency, and Cold Cash is proof of that point! You wanna talk RETAINED FINENESS? His AFD is 19.8 at almost 7 years of age. SDAFD is 3.2 with Cov 16.4 and only 0.9%>30! Talk about uniformity of micron!! His PEDIGREE is unrivaled: His dam is a Matrix daughter out of a Legacy/XXXtreme bloodline. On his sire's side there is a lineup of Herdsires of the Year: his sire is Herdsire of the Year Snowmass Seven Below, who is also a son of Herdsire of the Year Snowmass Sub Zero, with Accoyocusani and other notables in his bloodlines. Seven Below was one of Snowmass' top herdsires, and he is considered their "secret weapon" for passing on uniformity of micron and fleece architecture. Cold Cash had an exceptional introduction to the show ring, winning a blue ribbon and then Reserve Banner of 19 entries at the California Classic. And see how well he did as a yearling! We had to hold back on breeding on our farm for a few years, but Cash's first cria is gorgeous!! We are still breeding very selectively, but Cash is tops on our list. HIs daughter, Chungara, recently took a blue ribbon in fleece. Cold Cash is co-owned with Dave and Sheila Scroggins of Colusa Riverside Alpacas. They are known for their attention to outstanding EPDs, and they have put him to work on many of their females. He will be returning to our farm in Marin County in May, 2022 and will be available then for outside breedings.

MRN Hawkeye's Lauca

Lauca was declared the best cria of the season by an experienced evaluator of alpacas. She is a very feminine girl with perfect conformation--good bone and balance, and bright white fleece with medium frequency crimp. She has an incredibly heavy fleece, and has been in the top 1% EPD for fleece weight for 6 years and counting... Her 2019 cria scored 20 out of 20 points for fleece weight in the 2020 National Fleece Show, proof that this is a heritable trait! She is a wonderful mother for her cria this year--lots of milk and her daughter grew rapidly! All of Lauca's crias are big--each has been 21 lbs or more at birth and gain around a pound a day. She has had no problems with her births--her first took a while (2 hrs) but was uncomplicated. To be honest, we missed her next 2 births--we came out to the barnyard and she presented us with a healthy, standing cria! Lauca is a calm, dignified lady, unafraid of humans and will eat out of your hand. Lauca comes with a breeding. We'd definitely suggest a re-breed to our champion Matrix grandson, Snowmass Cold Cash, who brings incredible fineness and uniformity of micron to the mix. Her last cria by Cold Cash, Chungara, is gorgeous! Lauca is at our Marin County farm in the North San Francisco Bay area.

If you are serious about breeding alpacas to meet the demands of a large-scale American fiber industry, then you should seriously consider breeding your females to Accoyo America Tempest! At 7 years of age, his fiber was judged at the International Alpaca. Odyssey to excel with those attributes most important to the fiber industry: Retention of fineness, and uniformity of micron, length, and architecture! Accoyo America Tempest is a male cast in his VERY famous father's image (Nautilus). The award-winning offspring that Nautilus has produced comprise a "Who's Who" of the Alpaca Industry [ Accoyo America Typhoon, Sinbad, Apocalypse, and Shanghai, to name just a few..] and his dam is no slouch either, producing Tempest’s full brother Typhoon – who sold for a whopping $100,000 at the 2006 Parade of Champions sale. Tempest has a stunningly bright fleece with high frequency, low amplitude crimp. Long, long staple length, exceedingly organized and consistent.. His 2008 (13 1/2 months old) fleece had a stunning AFD of 15.5 and an SD of 3.5..WOW… The results of his skin biopsy (Watt) are just in and they are EXCELLENT!! At 43 months: Density 63/mm2, Secondary:Primary fiber ratio: 13.3:1 Primary fiber diameter 23.9 Secondary fiber diameter 15.9. Ian Watt points out that, "he has an excellent fiber population differential of only 8 microns. ...a superior fiber for a near four year old working male. " BREAKING NEWS: For 2011 Tempest sheared 15 pounds total, with a blanket weight of 4.9 pounds!! And, in 2014 two of his crias in Idaho had AFDs of 14.3 and 14.4 at 11 months of age! These fleece characteristics are a tribute to his rare and elite Cconchatanca genetics. The legendary Hemingway, (Tempest's grandsire) and Tempest's dam, Diana, both came from the fabled Cconchatanca herd (see Mike Safley's article about this at the Northwest Alpacas website), said to have vicuna interbreeding dating to the mid-19th century. With the Peruvian/Shining Path uprising of the late 20th century, these genetics were lost to Peru, and those of us who have Cconchatanca alpacas in the US consider ourselves fortunate, indeed. Tempest has a level topline, excellent leg set, good bone, medium frame and carries fleece from his very nice topknot all the way down. This is a male who will retain his fineness and to whom you want to breed for ultra-fine, bright fleeces with high frequency crimp, advanced bundling architecture, and consistency. ***My Dream Came True!! Tempest took 1st in Get of Sire competition--over 4 other males, several of whom have "Get" wins to their credits. This was "real" competition! AND his cria took Reserve Champion! AND it just gets better--Tempest was awarded 2 Champion Banners in Commercial Fleece at the International Alpaca Odyssey in 2014--for "Best Retention of Fineness" and for the "Grand Champion Commercial Huacaya Fleece". His daughter, Rockstar's Twisted Sister, took RC at the 2016 Futurity and CC + Best Head at

Description

This girl weighed 26.6 lbs at birth. 50 lbs at 1 month, and 65 lbs at 2 months! More importantly, she is absolutely gorgeous, with dense, well-organized, buttery bundles exhibiting excellent crimp and fleece architecture, way down towards the belly. Nice staple length, too. Chungara is beige, with a tiny medium brown spot on her back, so she should be able to produce darker colors. She is my first alpaca to take full points, 20/20 in weight at the AOA National Fleece Show and the PAOBA fleece show. One judge commented on the good skirting, so that weight is all good fleece! And she's a sweetheart, to boot--Very calm and unafraid of humans. I was looking forward to taking Chungara into the show ring, but COVID came and she "sat out" her show seasons. Now, she's ready to breed. She comes with a breeding to any of our males--I'd suggest a line breed on Matrix with our Lord of Sipan. Or try our Nautilus son, Accoyo America Tempest. And, if you are developing a breeding program, I'd discount a package of Chungara with her dam, Hawkey's Lauca. The two are very close, and would love to stay together.
