Spanish Peaks Victorian Gold
Alpaca, Huacaya, Herdsire (Male) | Medium Brown
AOA #1426816 | DOB: 5/28/2004 (20 yrs)
Sire: Mountain Gold (3/4 Peruvian)
1426816<--ari-->Dark Fawn<--color-->Mountain Gold is a dark fawn herdsire from Snowmass Alpacas' award winning breeding program. He is proving to be a genetic powerhouse due to his excellent sire and dam, both of whom have produced numerous award winners. MG has won ribbons in national and regional halter and fleece shows under a variety of prominent judges, and his crias are now winning in the show ring. He is adding crimp, staple length, fineness & coverage to all his crias. His progeny include beautiful crias with exceptionally fine fleece under 20 microns.
MG has correct conformation with a classic head, and large size. He has vicuna coloring which is believed to contribute to producing a variety of colors, often the color of the dam, plus he has a stripe of grey running down his nose. He has now produced many different colors including dark rose grey. <--description-->
Dam: Snowmass Victorian Glow (3/4 Peruvian)
1426816<--ari-->Medium Fawn<--color-->Victorian Glow is the product of an AOBA blue ribbon winning dam and PPeruvian Accoyo Victor, who is reknowed for his exceptional fiber and has sired many champions. She is fine fleeced with typical Victor crimp, dense, and quite lustrous. Victorian Glow is medium fawn with lighter vicuna like markings on her underside. She has produced several fine ribbon winning cria that are now essential studs and dams in other herds.

Description
Victorian Gold has many desirable traits that benefit you. His fiber maintained its fineness and handle as he matured. His cria fleece was amazing -- with a high amplitude crimp, intense luster, good density, long staple length, and beautiful body coverage. Buttery soft with a warm shine and long staple as a yearling, his fleece continued to be a length and fineness that allowed us to use it for next-to-skin roving production well into his maturity.
Tory, as we call him, has a pedigree that couples his dam's Snowmass color program heritage with a solid Perurvian presence, including the fiber and color qualities inherited from his Pperuvian Pluro and Pperuvian Victor lineage. His dam Snowmass Victorian Glow is an alpaca with 'staying power' in fleece characteristics, and her Snowmass bloodlines definitely contributed to his amazing fiber. Familially, his brothers from his birth farm, 'Spanish Peaks Alpha Centauri' and 'Banderas,' were show-winning males that produced crias which continued to have outstanding fleece.
In addition to the fine density that Tory showed he could pass to his crias, he demonstrated also that he could push colors to his crias. His first cria, born in 2009, is a light fawn, crimpy, dense male out of our blue ribbon white girl Tiramisu. With coverage down to his toes, G.O. presented his soft & bright fiber well. Due to an injury as a cria, G.O. never had the opportunity to be shown in the ring. Tory's second cria in 2009 was a beautiful black girl out of dark brown dam, which we called AutumnSun's Jet-Black Pearl. She is fine, very bright, and soft with good crimp. True black for the first 3 years, she is now an even DSG across her blanket. She is currently in our foundation having produced our fantastic rose grey females Puzzle and Bliss and her 2016 LRG girl.
In 2010, Tory had a modern MRG male out of a MB dam. He is a soft, gentle, cute male with his teddy bear face! In 2011, Tory was the sire of a classic MRG girl out of a DSG dam; Spice shows the soft fiber that Tory passes on! In 2012, Tory had a TB boy from a TB dam. This boy was sweet and cute, with a teddy coverage on his head and legs, and very fine & shiny fiber. We lost him to a tragic freak accident as a weanling and we are sure he would have been a beautiful male, a black "Tory" in looks and fiber.
Reference listing as we have retired Tory from breeding.
