Sixtus is the One and Only, Full Peruvian, Black, Male offspring, sired by 4Peruvian Legacy! Combine his pedigree, outstanding show record, and fantastic fleece stats -NOW YOU HAVE SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY! In addition to Sixtus being the son of the great 4Peruvian Legacy, his dam, Selasia (bay black), is a direct daughter of Kenamori Gold. Kenamori Gold was rated a 10 out of 10 on import. Selasia's Dam (Selena) is a TB girl (born during import) from Alianza Macusani. Selasia has produced Champions and Sixtus has kept her record going strong! By his show record you can see that Sixtus is following in his parent's foot steps! After a visit to Scott, Debbie and Sixtus (at Crescent Moon) we made the plunge and he is now standing Stud in Western Pa in the summer months UPDATE- as we now welcome Luis and Maria Candelario of the Galotto Alpaca Farm as partners and the winter home of Sixtus and Snowmass Ferrari! Put your hands on him and you will understand why we bought him to cross with our other outstanding blacks. Sixtus is fine and dense with architecture that fills his fleece throughout. His beautiful fleece is held up by a frame of captivating strength and machismo which exhibits perfect balance and proportions along with monstrous bone density. How about we say it like this…..”We`d like all of our studs to be built like Sixtus”! Now you have a chance to breed to a very unique Full Peruvian alpaca with gigantic marketing clout behind him and equally impressive herd improvement tools locked in his DNA. Couple that with his winnings, and what more could you want from your stud than to be an "instant business plan". Sixtus Champion offspring are absolutely beautiful! Unfortunately we lost Sixtus in January of 2022- I left him on our page out of respect!

Update - sold congratulations Rick and Danise! Check out the genetics of this Full Peruvian TB beauty! Poppie will stand in the open pasture or pen just to be handled. I have never witnessed anything quite like this .. guests to farm want to know if all alpacas are like this...what a PR girl! Wonderful Presence is the first thing you notice. Excellent Coverage (with a very typey head) and her fleece is VERY soft! She has an excellent bite and good density of bone. Her true black sire, Oro Negro is a multi banner champion. We brought her home in 2008 and to date have sold EVERY OFFSPRING she has produced (Male and Female) -Her BB/DSG female all the way to Colorado and one of her male offsprings (Lucius) now standing stud in Indiana! She just dropped an auburn female (Heaven's Hill Maya) out of our multi banner winner Ciaus. This little one has a terrific presence to her with a true to type head (what we breed for). She is NOW bred to Shade of Silver for a 2019 Cria.... hate to see this female go as this is the breeding that we have been waiting for ! but we have her daughter and that will carry on her legacy in our herd. Don't let the price fool you... she is a terrific female... we have 10 coming up including her offspring she is by far the easiest female to handle on our farm! Give us a call any time!

Description

We have deemed Lucius “”the Magician due to his unique genetics. He is a dark fawn with vicuna shading out of two true blacks. There is more to the illusion when you look closer—the truth is that genetically, Lucius is a black alpaca, but under the guise of a fawn! Lucius has had show success, largely due to his genetics. His sire, Crescent Moon’s Sixtus, is the only full Peruvian black male to be sired by the renowned 4Peruvian Legacy. Sixtus is an elite herdsire, and we are pleased to have his genetics on our farm. Lucius has a great phenotype as well! In addition to his unique vicuna color pattern, he has great fleece. Most noticeable is the fineness and softness of his fleece. It is also quite bright, has nice handle, and features an uncommon crimp style. Lucius has had a respectable show record. In 2012 he ribboned as the youngest in two different level 5 shows—and was the only fawn out of two blacks in each show! He followed that up with a second to the reserve color champion at the 2013 Virginia Classic. Lucius how now settled his first females. We look forward to the cria he has due this year, and will continue to breed him to black and grey. Put Lucius to work for your herd!

Awards

[5th] 2012 MAPACA. Eight alpacas in the class and Lucius was the youngest. Judge Jill Maclead commented: "Fine and bright, should show better in fall when cria fleece is off."
