Full Peruvian, Landmark, is true black with an exceptionally nice head and easy going personality. He is maintaining an 17.1 micron count at 20 months old. Infact, his micron dropped from 18 at 1 year. Micron Count 2009: 17.16 3.68 21.42 100.0 22 months old! 2010: 20.98 4.52 21.54 96.61 32 months old! 2013 my eyes tell me his micron is the same at age 6 as age 3 simply amazing. Im going to go ahead and send in a sample for a histogram. Do you know any True blacks Full Peruvian herdsires that have these kind of histograms?? We call this LINGERING Fineness at The AlpacaRosa. Not much of this genetic trait available in true Black , but we have it here! He has excellent crimp and has excellent working sebaceous glands as he is greasy. Super coverage with excellent density. Although his stature is on the small side(Bueno trait), he does exhibit excellent bone. Great genetics. We are excited about his future. As a 8 month old, we had to trim around his eyes so he could see, presenting the most fiber covered face we have ever seen on a black. Some visitors are saying, "Best black I've seen." Bueno, Dakotia, Black Magic, Camelot genetics all rolled into one exciting new black herdsire. Exciting lineage if you are interested in Lingering fineness. Both Bueno and Camelot add the "lingering" to fineness. Landmark as a young male exhibited low thyroid and thus was a very slow grower. His levels are finally where they need to be and now growing at an excellent pace. We talked to Norm Evans about this. He states that Thyroid deficiency has been tested and found NOT to be inheritable trait.

Description

Piper's black cria from last year,Night Moves, won a championship at the 09 Kentucky Classic and 3rd place at Nationals. Followed that up with a striking Rico Suave fawn male. 2011 offspring, Pipers Viper, won 3rd at National. He is quite nice with long crimpy staple. This year we bred Piper to our Tuscan Black. Tuscan Black has amazing fleece, so the offspring should be very interesting and hoping black. We GOT IT! an awesome Black offsrping with amazing crimp and brightness Piper is a Sweet girl in more ways than one. Her Super sweet personality is the first thing that sets her apart from the herd . But as you start looking through her fiber , She's got the SWEETEST FLEECE! Nice high frequency crimp, fine long staple and a great handle. Piper's fleece is VERY consistent throughout her blanket, extending down her legs and under her belly! She has perfect conformation with straight legs and compact build. Piper's 2009 histogram (3 years old) 22.59AFD 4.98SD 22.04CV 92.83CF 39 curve Piper did well in the showring, never finishing below 2nd Place and Always being singled out for the best fleece in her class, Her bloodlines are very unique, with a pronounced background of black. We look for Piper to throw a lot of black for us over the years. This time around we took the opportunity to breed Piper to a visiting 8 year old herdsire that has a documented 17.1 micron at 8 years old. He is one of a kind and should add super fineness to Piper's already impressive fleece! Check out our latest Efficiency invention, we call it the Bean Machine and you can watch videos at http://thealpacarosa.com/beanmachine.html
