Sire: Knight of Camelot
31341745<--ari-->True Black<--color-->5/8 Chilean, 1/4 Peruvian - Knight of Camelot has perfect conformation, heavy bone, a good bite, and a wonderful, soft hand to his fine, very bright, uniform black fleece. He placed 2nd in a huge class at the 2003 MAPACA Jubilee, behind the color champion, and he nearly claimed Reserve Champion. The judge put him in the middle of an alpaca sandwich, and agonized over her decision for Reserve Champion!
Our Knight of Camelot is producing sturdy, healthy crias with fine, high frequency crimp, brightness, long staple length, and with that special presence and carriage that does so well in the show ring. His wonderful temperament and exemplary breeding behavior make Knight of Camelot an outstanding stud who is passing on prizewinning black genetics to his progeny, in addition to his beautiful face that he passes on repeatedly!
Camelot is a proud grandfather several times over, passing down his long staple length, bright, dense fleece, and correct conformation.<--description-->
Description
We had planned to leave Galadriel open for six months to recuperate from nursing her big 2008 cria, Jake. After awhile, it became obvious that she was pregnant. Apparently she didn't agree with our plans for her, took advantage of a visiting herdsire, and produced her first female cria after three males. As soon as we saw Fran's coloring and soft fleece, we started scratching our heads to figure out who the sire could be. As soon as we checked the dates, we just knew it had to be Camelot, who always throws soft crias, and DNA tests proved it. The shearer said Fran's cria fleece was the softest she had ever shorn. She is a large, good looking alpaca. Check out her histogram and fiber stats! Awesome CV! Her first cria, sired by champion Luc's Spittin' Image, hit the deck running! Her 2015 female cria, by 17 time champion A.L. Paca's Revolution Grayson, is a gorgeous mahogany color and super soft. Fran is a good mother and can bring size, fiber fineness, consistency, good temperament and color to your herd.
