We had planned to leave Galadriel open for six months to recuperate from nursing her big 2008 cria, Jake. After awhile, it became obvious that she was pregnant. Apparently she didn't agree with our plans for her, took advantage of a visiting herdsire, and produced her first female cria after three males. As soon as we saw Fran's coloring and soft fleece, we started scratching our heads to figure out who the sire could be. As soon as we checked the dates, we just knew it had to be Camelot, who always throws soft crias, and DNA tests proved it. The shearer said Fran's cria fleece was the softest she had ever shorn. She is a large, good looking alpaca. Check out her histogram and fiber stats! Awesome CV! Her first cria, sired by champion Luc's Spittin' Image, hit the deck running! Her 2015 female cria, by 17 time champion A.L. Paca's Revolution Grayson, is a gorgeous mahogany color and super soft. Fran is a good mother and can bring size, fiber fineness, consistency, good temperament and color to your herd.

Description

Grayson's Mahogany, aka Maggie, is a special member of our herd and is only here because we love her mom so much! Her grandmother Galadriel, aka Big Glad, is one of our original foundation dams and Maggie's mother, Francesca, aka Fran, is Glad's only daughter, by the awesome true black Camelot. Fran has incredibly soft fleece but the judges didn't like her long body size. We bred her once and ended up selling her very cute, friendly son Panama Jack as a pet. We decided to not breed Fran again but to keep her as a fiber animal, even though she was a wonderful mother. One day we had two visiting herdsires that we co-own here. Fran and 9 time champion Grayson locked eyes in obvious lust across the way, (no kidding!) and so we gave in and said "OK Franikins, you get one shot!" We brought Grayson over, they bred 20 minutes and Maggie the "love child" was born 11 ½ months later! She has her mother's coloring but is not as big. In her first three shows, Maggie earned two thirds and a fourth in brown juvenile halter. Maggie is adopted by Theda.
