Very Fine Black!
GNLC NIGHTFALL - SOLD
Alpaca, Huacaya, Open (Female) | Bay Black
AOA #30924574 | DOB: 10/10/2007 (17 yrs)
Sire: Snowmass Nova's Inca
30924574<--ari-->Light Fawn<--color-->A good deal is known about Inca's breeding qualities since he currently has 54 registered cria; their colors have generally followed close to that of the dams, and include the full range of the AOBA color set. He is proven to pass on his density, fineness, uniformity, excellent bone structure, perfect bite & conformation, and gorgeous head to his offspring.
Genetically, Inca is jam packed on both his sire's and his dam's sides. Inca's sire, Snowmass Nova (one of the best blacks ever), is the son of Snowmass Peruvian Casanova, who is the son of Peruvian Bueno.
Inca's dam, Snowmass Magic Mist, a violet-hued light rose grey, is the daughter of Incan Magic and maintained fine fiber through age 7.
Inca is light fawn in color and his fiber has a fine, Vicuna-style crimp, a crimp style featuring high frequency and low amplitude, more closely related to the pre-Columbian alpaca than other alpaca fleece types.
Vicuna style fiber is notable for both fineness and high curvature; animals bearing Vicuna-style fiber tend to maintain their fineness as they age, which is a central priority in our breeding program. Inca's fiber definitely shows this quality. His first shearing AFD was 15.8 and he is maintaining his fineness even at 11 years old.
Although Inca is a very Macho Alpha Male, he is very easy to manage. He knows his job and is very comfortable with hands on during breeding. He remains our go to stud on the farm.

Description
Congratulations and thank you to Kat Bouzos for her purchase of GNLC Nightfall!
Beautiful Inca daughter, with a grey mother and lots of grey in her lineage.
Nightfall was the finest alpaca in the 2009 shearing on our ranch, with a 17.9 AFD and 4.8 SD, which for a true black alpaca is astonishing...even more so considering she was being fed hay with 18% protein (all we could get in a bad hay season).
Her sire is Snowmass Nova's Inca, with Snowmass Peruvian Casanova as one grandsire and Incan Magic as another. With females like Snowmass Drambuie's Kaluha (TB) and grandsires like Peruvian Bueno, Peruvian Drambuie and Sir Lancelot, her pedigree is loaded with excellence.
