When I opened up Tank's massive fleece, his fawn coloring also had grey fibers. So he's a Fawn Roan. That was curious, so looking into his pedigree, there was black and grey in there. hmmmm, as our alpaca friends are always saying. His sire is SUNSET HILL'S ANDEAN GOLD who has produced both black and grey offspring and is a grandson of Pperuvian Victor. Dam is LAAF PALADIN'S BELLEDIN, a Pperuvian Victor great-granddaughter & 5th generation Hemingway. She, too, has a bit of black and grey in her heritage. Mom has only been bred to white or light fawn males and produced those colors. Tank has one registered cria on the ground, a LF from a breeding with a white dam. So, after shearing, we can see he carries great bone, is square and "has good skin" per Chris Hatch who did the honors. I asked what that meant exactly, and he explained that Tank skin has wrinkles or "sand bars" along his back and neck. This, apparently, is a good thing as it means his fleece will be more dense due to more surface area. He is a sweet guy who is fits in well here. We're offering stud service which includes the "your place or mine" drive by option. We're located near Syracuse, NY so reach out and/or stop by if interested in this guy. He can come to your girl(s) or you can bring them here for drive by or boarding for breeding. GENETIC TESTING: e1e1 a2a3 --SO 2 dilution genes and 2 black genes for those using genotypes for breeding. Does NOT carry classic grey! He can be bred to EE aa female and produce 100% black (the a's are black alleles/genes) - remember Punnett squares from Bio class?? Or even a Ee aa female if you're feeling lucky for 50% chance of black. Update: Fawn Girl - 17.8# Melissa- delivered by Molly and Sean, a bay black boy, 19.4# out of Sultry. Both have good, solid bone, with improved fiber density - waiting to see their fiber following cria clipping. Got questions about what he'll produce with your girl? Contact us 315-243-3782

Description

Bono arrived a strong. healthy, 19# boy to his mom, Hobby Horse Simply Sultry by our Alpaca Palace Tank Commander. Great bone, black guy with a curious nature, like most crias. He's looking more bay black due to the sun this summer so we'll see what lines beneath! Bono was weaned in November due to his size and is doing well eating grain along with hay and pasture. He was cria clipped and will show in the Harrisburg Spring 2025 show.
