Epic Alpacas Wicked Tinker
HuacayaHerdsire (Male)True Black
AOA# 32532814DOB: 11/25/201311 yrs
Wording by Epic Alpacas: "On November 25, 2013 our Peruvian Apricot Brandy had a true black male cria, Wicked Tinker, with incredibly dense crimpy fleece – probably our best 2013 cria. Tinker was named after our good friend, CJ Henderson, who plays the didgeridoo in the Tribal Celtic Band, The Wicked Tinkers! (Check out the Wicked Tinkers here: www.WickedTinkers.com)
He’s sired by Snowmass Andean Midnight, an exceptional true black herdsire whose cria are quite lookers with their sire’s magnificent fineness. Snowmass Andean Midnight should retain fineness for years to come and those who need to add proven genetics of fineness, brightness and handle will appreciate the Royal Blacks from Snowmass! He is one of their best! Snowmass Andean Midnight is a beautiful, compact, true black “silky soft” male with an outstanding pedigree for fineness. His fiber is incredibly soft and shiny with a silky look and feel. It has a uniform low amplitude high frequency style of crimp. You have to see it to believe it. His grandsire is none other than Andean Bronze, the sire of Royal Bronze – from Snowmass’ vicuna type alpacas who retain fineness under 20 microns after reaching maturity.
Update: Tinker’s histogram is in – 16.8 AFD, 4.2 SD, 1.4 %>30 with a 6-month staple length of nearly 85mm!
News Flash: Tinker’s sire, Snowmass Andean Midnight, just won Get of Sire at the 2014 California Classic!
And in even bigger NEWS: Wicked Tinker took 1st Place in the juvenile class and went on to win the Reserve Color Championship at the 2014 Gold Country Gathering! The judge loved his density, great fineness, brightness and his overall look. She said she would look forward to how he improves with age!"
Tinker is such a fun herdsire, we just love having him on the farm! He is very friendly and curious about people, he will seriously follow you around the pasture all day. He loves a bath and is incredibly easy to handle. He doesn't even need a halter, he'll just follow along. This fun spirit is certainly passed down to his crias as he sired one of my personal favorite alpacas, Pixie Gold who is the sweetest alpaca you'll ever meet. Conformationally, He has a very compact body style. He does tend to rub his nose on our fencing which causes him to loose the hair on his nose but it is totally cosmetic and does not bother him at all.
