SNOWMASS ANDEAN MIDNIGHT: "FINENESS in BLACK" Elite Ultra-Fine Blacks are hard to find! However, like many of our Snowmass studs, Andean Midnight has retained his Fineness, Brightness, and Handle with age! Andean Midnight is a beautiful, compact True Black "Silky Soft" stud with an outstanding Royal Pedigree for fineness and should retain his fineness for years to come. Those who need to add proven genetics of fineness, brightness and handle will appreciate the Royal Blacks from Snowmass! He is one of their best! His fiber is incredibly soft and shiny with a silky look and feel. It has a uniform low amplitude high frequency style of crimp. You have to see it to believe it. His grandsire is none other than Andean Bronze, the sire of Royal Bronze – from Snowmass’ vicuna type alpacas who retain fineness under 20 microns after reaching maturity. CONFORMATION: GOOD BONE WITH EXCELLENT COVERAGE HANDSOME CORRECT WEDGED HEADPIECE DENSE TOPKNOT CORRECT BITE SUPERIOR ROYAL “Vicuna” Lineage: Snowmass Andean Night is a brother to Snowmass Royal Bronze (throws true blacks) and Snowmass Royal Flush (throws silver grays like Silver Signature). ANDEAN MIDNIGHT IS 1/2 BROTHER TO SNOWMASS ROYAL BRONZE (VICUNA TYPE) SIRE: SNOWMASS ANDEAN NIGHT (Superb Brightness & Character Throughout the Fleece) DAM: SNOWMASS FINENESS MATTERS (The name says it all...fineness in Black does matter). Brandy is a beautiful girl with a typey head, and a fleece at 3 years old with a 22.0 AFD and a curvature of 49. Her 2012 cria, Apollo, was a duplicate stamp of herself with wonderful crimp and character just like mom and the herdsire, Snowmass Rock Star XX, with to-die-for head coverage, fine, fine, fleece, and tremendous conformation. On November 25, 2013 Brandy had a true black male cria, Wicked Tinker, with incredibly dense crimpy fleece – one of our best 2013 cria. Tinker took the blue and reserve color champion at the 2014 Gold Country Gathering for male black juvenile. He’s sired by Snowmass Andean Midnight, an exceptional true black herdsire whose cria are quite lookers with their sire’s magnificent fineness. Snowmass Andean Midnight should retain fineness for years to come and those who need to add proven genetics of fineness, brightness and handle will appreciate the Royal Blacks from Snowmass! On November 8, 2014 Brandy had a gorgeous modern dark silver grey boy, Baratheon, out of our champion modern silver grey herdsire, Morning Star's Don Diego, a Rincon Cloud son. We were so pleased with this cria we repeated the breeding, and on November 6, 2015 Brandy had a exceptional true black male cria, Baelish. Brandy is an easy keeper, and a great mom with lots of milk. Brandy produced an absolutely stunning harlequin/appaloosa female in January 2018, sired by our blue ribbon appaloosa herdsire, Escher!

Description

Wording by Epic Alpacas: "On November 25, 2013 our Peruvian Apricot Brandy had a true black male cria, Wicked Tinker, with incredibly dense crimpy fleece – probably our best 2013 cria. Tinker was named after our good friend, CJ Henderson, who plays the didgeridoo in the Tribal Celtic Band, The Wicked Tinkers! (Check out the Wicked Tinkers here: www.WickedTinkers.com) He’s sired by Snowmass Andean Midnight, an exceptional true black herdsire whose cria are quite lookers with their sire’s magnificent fineness. Snowmass Andean Midnight should retain fineness for years to come and those who need to add proven genetics of fineness, brightness and handle will appreciate the Royal Blacks from Snowmass! He is one of their best! Snowmass Andean Midnight is a beautiful, compact, true black “silky soft” male with an outstanding pedigree for fineness. His grandsire is none other than Andean Bronze, the sire of Royal Bronze – from Snowmass’ vicuna type alpacas who retain fineness under 20 microns after reaching maturity. Update: Tinker’s histogram is in – 16.8 AFD, 4.2 SD, 1.4 %>30 with a 6-month staple length of nearly 85mm! News Flash: Tinker’s sire, Snowmass Andean Midnight, just won Get of Sire at the 2014 California Classic! And in even bigger NEWS: Wicked Tinker took 1st Place in the juvenile class and went on to win the Reserve Color Championship at the 2014 Gold Country Gathering! The judge loved his density, great fineness, brightness and his overall look. She said she would look forward to how he improves with age!" Tinker is such a fun herdsire, we just love having him on the farm! He is very friendly and curious about people, he will seriously follow you around the pasture all day. He loves a bath and is incredibly easy to handle. He doesn't even need a halter, he'll just follow along. This fun spirit is certainly passed down to his crias as he sired one of my personal favorite alpacas, Pixie Gold who is the sweetest alpaca you'll ever meet. Conformationally, He has a very compact body style. He does tend to rub his nose on our fencing which causes him to loose the hair on his nose but it is totally cosmetic and does not bother him at all.
