CRESCENT MOON'S CATERA Catera possesses exceptional genetics! She is the daughter of 8x Color Champion, Crescent Moon's Rayo Del Sol. Rayo was the 2002 Futurity Color Champion and 2001 and 2002 AOBA National Color Champion. He has sired countless champion offspring and is one of the premier grey herdsires in North America. Her paternal grandsire, Danko is a phenomenal grey herdsire from Alpacas de la Patagonia. He is well known in the alpaca world for throwing champions of all colors, especially grey and black (including many AOBA Champions). He was also the sire of the high-selling alpacas in the 2000 AOBA auction. Danko’s Histogram: 21.4m / 6.0sd / 28cv / 7.5%>30 (taken at 2.5 years of age). Catera is also the full sister to 13x Champion and multiple blue-ribbon winning stud - Kirwin (said to be one of Crescent Moon's favorite Rayo Del Sol sons) and among the most decorated brown males in the country! Her maternal grandsire is none other than PPPeruvian Royal Fawn 6014, a full Accoyo male with a history of passing on his fine-fibered genetics to his 406 offspring. Consistent show winners and high sellers, his progeny boast 108 known champions and 329 blue ribbons in every solid color group. Hand selected by the late Dr. Jim Vickers, Royal Fawn is the only light fawn Accoyo ever exported from Don Julio Barreda’s herd. According to Julio Barreda, Royal Fawn ranked as one better than he had ever produced at Estancia Accoyo in Peru. PPPeruvian Royal Fawn was the 1999 and 2000 "Get-of-Sire" winner at the AOBA National Show, and record-breaking highest selling male in alpaca history in October, 2005. He is the sire of Dom Lucilio, Double “O” Good’s legendary male known as the Herdsire of Champions with 73 known champion and nearly 200 blue ribbon offspring. Offspring: On 8/1/13, Catera had a sweet beige female sired by Crescent Moon's Simtustus. Her daughter, Andina's Cartera Ann won 1st Place at the 2014 Alpacapalooza & 2nd at the 2014 CABA Classic. On 7/4/15, Catera gave birth to a beautiful true black female sired by Crescent Moon's Accoyo Augustine. On 6/25/18, Catera gave birth to a pretty bay black female sired by AML El Duro's Principio. On 8/12/19, Catera had a nice-looking light rose grey male sired by AOV Accoyo Eros. Her son, AA Royal Flush won 2nd at the 2021 Futurity & 3rd at 2021 AOA Nationals. On 8/22/20, Catera gave birth to a lovely medium brown female sired by Amber Autumn Giovanni. On 4/19/22, Catera presented us with a handsome medium rose grey male also sired by AOV Accoyo Eros. Andina Cinnamon Toast brought home a 2nd Place ribbon at the 2023 Buckeye Alpaca Fall Fest, where judge Amanda VandenBosch raved about his density.
