Rayo del Sol means Ray of the Sun! He has most certainly been at least that for us. With 8 Color Championships and 2 National Championships, we have loved the ride that Rayo has given us. To add to that, he began settling at 16 months of age so now we are seeing his offspring. It most certainly is a sunny time here at Crescent Moon Ranch!

Description
CRESCENT MOON'S CATERA
Catera possesses exceptional genetics! She is the daughter of 8x Color Champion, Crescent Moon's Rayo Del Sol. Rayo was the 2002 Futurity Color Champion and 2001 and 2002 AOBA National Color Champion. He has sired countless champion offspring and is one of the premier grey herdsires in North America. Her paternal grandsire, Danko is a phenomenal grey herdsire from Alpacas de la Patagonia. He is well known in the alpaca world for throwing champions of all colors, especially grey and black (including many AOBA Champions). He was also the sire of the high-selling alpacas in the 2000 AOBA auction. Danko’s Histogram: 21.4m / 6.0sd / 28cv / 7.5%>30 (taken at 2.5 years of age).
Catera is also the full sister to 13x Champion and multiple blue-ribbon winning stud - Kirwin (said to be one of Crescent Moon's favorite Rayo Del Sol sons) and among the most decorated brown males in the country!
Her maternal grandsire is none other than PPPeruvian Royal Fawn 6014, a full Accoyo male with a history of passing on his fine-fibered genetics to his 406 offspring. Consistent show winners and high sellers, his progeny boast 108 known champions and 329 blue ribbons in every solid color group. Hand selected by the late Dr. Jim Vickers, Royal Fawn is the only light fawn Accoyo ever exported from Don Julio Barreda’s herd. According to Julio Barreda, Royal Fawn ranked as one better than he had ever produced at Estancia Accoyo in Peru. PPPeruvian Royal Fawn was the 1999 and 2000 "Get-of-Sire" winner at the AOBA National Show, and record-breaking highest selling male in alpaca history in October, 2005. He is the sire of Dom Lucilio, Double “O” Good’s legendary male known as the Herdsire of Champions with 73 known champion and nearly 200 blue ribbon offspring.
