Fantastic news, Taboo just won First Place in his class, Reserve Color Champion and an Advanced Fleece Award for a score of 82.5 all at the Calpaca Autumn Fleece Extravaganza 2022 but that's not all, he also won the Spirit of the Fiber Industry Award. This award is only given to fleece in the 3 years and older categories. It honors traits recognized as very valuable in long term breeding strategies. At the age of 1yr and 3mos Taboo was evaluated by Judge Cheryl Gehly. Under uniformity of micron she stated his primaries were medium/fine and his secondaries were fine. In confirmation he received top scores. We are very pleased with Taboo's Skin Biopsy Report Dated May 24, 2021 Secondary:Primary fiber ratio: 8.8:1 In-skin mean primary fiber diameter: 21.1µ Standard Deviation: 2.5µ Range: 15.5 µ to 24.6 µ In-skin mean secondary fiber diameter: 20.6µ Standard Deviation: 2.9 µ Range: 14.0 µ to 28.2 µ *Comments from Ian Watt "The two fiber populations show excellent uniformity and, in my opinion, AFD numbers that are near perfect for the production of sought-after commercially valuable fleece.” You can see Taboo's graph from the biopsy in the pictures that are provided. *Comments from Judge Wade Gease at the TXOLAN Sweetheart Spectacular 2022 Fleece Show "Holding exceptional fineness and uniformity for age" *Comments from Judge Amanda VandenBosch at the AOA National Show 2022 "For his age holding fineness and uniformity across the entire body." *Comments from Judge Beverly Brehm at the Calpaca Autumn Fleece Extravaganza 2022 "Beautifully consistent in micron across the blanket for age, Wow! Great Job!" Taboo also received an Advanced Fleece Award with a score of 82.5 *Comments from Judge Sharon Loner at the ABR Fall Festival 2022 "Beautiful fleece for age. Lovely crimp style" Taboo also received an Advanced Fleece Award with a score of 80.5 *Comments from Judge Frauke Berman at the A-OK Blastoff 2022 "Very fine, even style for age group!" Taboo also received an Advanced Fleece Award with a score of 82 Taboo is a handsome and easy to handle, proud male with a calm disposition, solid confirmation on a square frame, correct bite and excellent fiber coverage from head to toe. Taboo is now proven and has produced 3 gorgeous crias, a light fawn male, a medium brown male and a beige female. We are very pleased with all 3 of his offspring and can not wait to put him back to work.

Genotype - Ee Aa1 Don't disregard the older females for breeding. If your lucky, you can find a gem like we did with Sasha. In 1 year of growth this girl had a blanket weight of 6.65 pounds and a total shear weight of 12.15 pounds at 11 years of age in 2020. In 2021 at the age of 12 years old, with shorter staple length and only 11 months of growth she still produced a blanket weight of 5.45 pounds and a total shear weight of 10.10 pounds. That is extreme density for a girl of her age. She is a well proportioned, strong boned female, with a square frame, correct bite, solid color throughout and excellent coverage. Sasha delivered a beautiful beige female cria (Chai Chai) May 15, 2022 out of our Herdsire Daylight Taboo. Sasha is a very friendly alpaca with a pleasant attitude. She loves carrots and will eat right out of your hand. She is an excellent mom to her cria. Sasha would be a great choice for someone who is just starting out in alpacas or looking for a gentle companion. We are very happy with the cria that Sasha and Taboo produced and decided to breed them again. Looking forward to another cria in September 2023. Sasha delivered a beautiful medium fawn female cria September 23, 2023 out of Daylight Taboo.

Description

Genotype - ee a1a 3 "Chizuki Flower Moon", this little girl just had to have an extra special name to represent the day of her birth, May 15, 2022 was the Super Flower Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse. Chizuki is Japanese for Blood Moon and Flower Moon is the name of the full moon in May. We call her "Chai Chai" for short. Chai Chai is the 3rd cria out of our Herdsire Daylight Taboo. She weighed 16 pounds at birth and had no problem finding the milk bar. She is a well proportioned, strong boned female, with a square frame, correct bite and has excellent coverage. She does not have a solid blanket , her base color is beige and is developing fawn colored spotting. At the time of her first shearing she only had 1 spot on her hip. Her second shearing revealed more spots and a type of marbling. I am looking forward to her next shearing to see if there will be any changes. Chai Chai's fleece has a very soft buttery feeling, her beige color is very bright and she is very uniform. I entered her fleece in the indefinite light class for 4 different shows. So far 3 of the shows changed her class to multicolor. Very proud of this girl and how she is doing in classes that do not really fit with her color. *Comments from the AOA National Fleece Show 2024 "Good brightness, soft hand" *Comments from the PAOBA Fleece Showcase 2024 "Good style throughout" *Comments from the Calpaca Autumn Fleece Extravaganza 2024 "Beautiful staple length, excellent uniformity, brightness & crimp style." *Comments from the PNAA IFA Fleece Show 2024 "Brilliant brightness, good length to staple, definition within staple, healthy. Well done!" *Comments from the A-OK Blast-off Fleece Show 2024 "Staple length produced is impressive as is the uniformity."
