Enchanted Hill LuTau

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)White, Medium Brown
AOA# 35262589DOB: 5/16/20159 yrs
Genotype: Ee Aa LuTau is a striking appaloosa male that has a good chance of being homozygous for the appaloosa gene, so you "serious" appaloosa breeders need to check this guy out! LuTau's fleece has incredible crimp, structure, and staple. If you are breeding for appaloosas, or are even considering breeding for this unusual pattern, LuTau is not one to miss! His fleece is one to behold - great architecture in the long staple, with blinding brightness and consistency. And check out his histogram from a sample submitted of both light and dark fibers; AFD 17.6, SD 3.6, Curvature 64.3. That SD of 3.6 is fantastic when considering the sample was both his light and dark fawn colors! LuTau is the first cria from Vintage Cashmere's U-Taupe-Ia, a male with the appaloosa gene on both sides of the family (Hannaruh and Chiquita). LuTau's dam is the amazingly-patterned appaloosa, Enchanted Hill Appalucy, who also has the appaloosa gene on both sides of the family (Maria's Angel, LTD Treasure, and Xus). That's FIVE different appaloosa genes coming together in this male! In 2016, he stormed through his show career, , never taking anything lower than a blue ribbon! On April 9, 2016, LuTua took the blue in walking fleece and the blue in halter at the California Classic, and on October 23, 2016 received another blue ribbon at the Alpaca Breeders Invitational in Oregon! In April 2017, LuTau finished his show career with yet another blue ribbon at the California Classic

AOA# 35072423DOB: 3/21/20159 yrs
And HERE is Chupika! She is an Aussie .38 granddaughter on the top and an El R Peruvian Luciano granddaughter on the bottom.. Got some GREAT grey genetics here! She had an EL Dorado Burning Man male cria - who won Bred & Owned Best at the 2019 California Classic with a SUPER bright fleece. She was rebreed to Accoyo Manchu cause re REALLY liked what he did with her dam Cungasca... Both girls are bred to Manchu so it will be really fun to see what mother and daughter produce out of a sire with killer fleece! Sad for us that Chupikas dam passed away recently, this was her LAST daughter... and the Manchu daughter she produced, is Manchu's last daughter.. sad to see lines end.. but super happy I am keeping Chupika in my Appy breeding program, with Luciano as a granddad, its highly likely she carries the appy gene, we will see! She delivered a wonderful spotty boy in 2020 and is rebred to the amazing Rare Gem Xman AND WOW we got an amazing Harlequin girl whose fleece WON the grey color championship at Nationals 2023! Now who to breed her to next!! We will see! Color typed Ee a1a2 Chupika has some pretty nice epd's too.

Description

"Turvy" is a long awaited addition to our herd out of the Derwydd Alpacas breeding program. His pedigree reads like a "who's who" list of appaloosa alpaca genetics with Hannahruh top and bottom, Peruvian Platinum, Enchanted Hill Lutau, Enchanted Hill Appalucy and Xus. Turvy also fulfills the 20-year dream of obtaining an alpaca from the El R Peruvian Luciano line. In addition, he's got Vintage Cashmere's U-Taupe-IA as paternal grandsire. We fully expect the cria out of this fella will be unique. Turvy is a fairly precocious junior herdsire, already settling females. His first cria are due in May/June 2023. His breeder called Turvy an "upsidedown appy" and possibly a harlequin. Most of his spots are on his belly, the inside of his legs and the underside of his jaw. He does have a light speckling of black freckles across his nose. He looks light fawn in the pasture but his fiber at the skin is closer to medium fawn/taupe and gorgeously crimpy with bundling and consistent fineness. It's easier to see his belly, chin and leg spots when he's sheared. We don't always see the email notifications through Openherd right away, so if you're interested in a package deal, herdsire breedings or have questions about our alpacas contact us through Messenger or please text the contact number listed on our main Openherd farm page.
