Feast your eyes on this uniquely colored stud and then feast your eyes on his pedigree! Flare's Incan Nightfire (FIN) is a product of Champion full Peruvian bloodlines (including Nationals & Futurity). The genetics on this boy are so impressive - where to begin! Even better yet is to see him in person and get a hand on his gorgeous, tightly crimped, incredibly fine, modern grey fleece which translates to a yarn that is highly sought after. FIN is well-proportioned and balanced with a straight topline, absolutely stunning head, straight legs, and correct bite. He stands out amongst our very handsome group of herdsires. FIN's first fleece was a delightful surprise, come shearing. With brown tips, we knew that he was much darker at the skin, giving him a bit of a glow - thus the name Nightfire. But we didn't realize the full extent of his unique, exciting dark taupe color and the wonderful quality of his fleece until shearing day. FIN's fleece characteristics are much like that of his Champion dam, Sweet Pines Avanti - one judge, placing her Fawn Champion, wrote of her fleece: "Beautiful appeal - bright and stylish to tip". FIN's fleece has her same appeal with tight, uniform crimp, with great brightness and density. And oh my, the coverage! FIN is covered with his almost purple-looking fleece from head to toe. And he is holding his fineness and length!...19 microns at 4 yrs old. Our local handspinners covet his fleece. FIN's color is certainly influenced genetically by his very famous grey great grandsire, Snowmass Peruvian Casanova. Casanova was Futurity Herdsire of the Year and has greatly contributed in improving the US herd with superior color genetics. FIN's grandsire on his sire's side is a National, IAO, and Futurity Champion who now stands stud in the UK. Snowmass XXXtreme Flare (FIN's sire) is one of only two sons he left behind in the US. FIN has produced a really lovely daughter here on the ranch, who is now having incredibly beautiful offspring of her own. Kamara's first daughter, Pagani, is a slightly darker version of FIN, with much more black in her fleece. Her second daughter is a dark brown with such density and crimp. We can't wait to see her grow. We have discovered that we love the result of Crescent Moon's Daytona covering a FIN or Banderas daughter. It's exactly what we are looking for!

A FINE DENSE stud, 18.0 on 8th shearing!

How do you say SIMPLY GORGEOUS?...we say EPHRAIM! From his incredible head to his toes, the coverage of fine, crimpy fleece will take your breath away. We had originally thought we would send a Diomedes daughter to Colorado to pair with Tuscan Gold, but somehow Athena drew that straw. The minute she delivered Ephraim we knew it had been the right choice. She has always produced dark offspring from light sires, but this shiny black cria was a beautiful surprise, and there were more to come. When we sheared Ephraim as a cria, the rolling skin on his neck and chest were beyond anything we had experienced. You can see some of the rolls in the picture of him at a few weeks. It probably explains why he sheared better than a 4 pound blanket!! of 17.4 micron fleece at 10 months of age!!…and the handle…SO buttery soft! His personality is wonderful around his pen mates and our kids. He has been getting better and better with age, and he has 4 healthy crias on the ground ON JUST OUR FARM! They have ranged from White to Dark Fawn. We have used him for so many of our farm breedings. He continues to wow us with the density and fineness he passes down! He has over 30 cria on the ground, with more coming in 2021. 2021 Histogram: AFD: 18.0 !!!!
