This is Capone. Oh my goodness, Capone is awesome. Capone is sired by Snowmass Silver Signature. I didn't know much about Signature, but I have come to believe that he is one of the most under-appreciated gray sires out there. Signature himself is a beautiful, compact, typey male with a family of elite animals behind him (Snowmass Royal Flush, full brother to Royal Bronze, with Snowmass Peruvian Casanova as his dam sire), so it's no small wonder he is able to reliably produce excellence. Then, Capone's dam is a producer of excellence as well. She has produced multiple-blue ribbon winners by multiple other sires -- all dark, even when bred to light, and all grey when bred to grey. Her lineage provides an interesting blend of elite light impact sires (namely Peruvian Legacy, and Peruvian Hemingway), and dark sires (Danko and the true black Caballero Andante, foundation sire for Patagonia and Crescent Moon). So, we have Capone. Simply put, in so many ways, this male exemplifies what we are breeding for. Capone is sweet, calm, and confident. He is extremely compact -- one might say ultra-compact -- yet his substance of bone is that of an extra-large alpaca. His bone circumference relative to height is the best I have ever seen. His conformation and proportions are excellent. His head is beautiful, and his coverage, like his sire's, is extensive. ... All of which is great, but if you've read this far, you probably know what you're looking at, and what you're looking at is the fleece. Yes, it really looks like that in real life. Not only does Capone have the high-frequency, high-amplitude crimp style of an elite white, he has the density of an elite white. Yes, this solid silver tux alpaca is as dense as an elite white one. He's also extremely fine. Last but most assuredly not least, he has an absolutely awesome staple length. This is a trait that we value very highly and feel is often under-appreciated in alpacas. Also stunning is his uniformity of color: Capone's fleece is solid silver gray. Period.

Peaceful Prairies Knee Deep

HuacayaOpen (Female)Light Fawn
AOA# 35364306DOB: 10/20/201410 yrs
Meet Knee Deep! She is our latest acquisition 'hit' here, as we searched for a prospective girl for an APPY breeding we found she had some really cool spots. She is a ‘Fewspot’ appy with brown on it, fawn coloration. She has dark spot gene and spots quietly appear on neck, legs, hip and both sides of blanket. Knee Deep comes from a white sire with brown spot, and a dam with some agouti and dark spotting, with a white spot on chin. Knee Deep was born a lighter version of her mom, grey nose with a notable brown spot on blanket. Into adulthood, the same colored dark spot started becoming apparent on neck, hips, back of leg... and you get the picture. She isn't a 'loud' pattern at all, no white just brown spotted over light fawn. EPDs are nothing to scoff at on eiher side of her lineage - but her claim to fame will be DENSITY. If you wish to add density on the dams side into your program, shear more fleece weight, and have the density to win in the showring, this female totally has it. Its like supernatural density, swear! We'll run a follicle biopsy after shearing this year.
