HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Light Rose Grey
AOA# 32495393DOB: 7/8/201410 yrs
We knew he was special the moment he was born and he only got better and better as he matured. Dauntless' sire is the incomparable Annual's Bea-2 Bomber, whose owner had commented he was his spitting image. His dam was our first champion born on our farm, a dam that produced champion after champion. We have/had kept ALL of her sons on our farm in the herdsire row, including her last son, a DRG by our Dark Secret. We lost one of his brothers (judge's choice, Smokejumper) to unfortunate accident a few years ago and his dam (multiple champion Rose) to old age last year, so Dauntless' genetics is increasing rare genetics. You don't hear as much about multiple champion Kanaka (his maternal grandsire) these days but as one of those who saw him first-hand in his day, we can attest that he was a very nice male, one of the first of his kind. Similarly, his sire (Bea-2 Bomber) was a very special male in promoting the grey color alpaca fiber in the show ring. We also have Dauntless' half sister by Bomber, who is in our foundation making her own champions -- namely our Artorius. Dauntless didn't get enough action on our farm to no fault of his own, and we need to reduce numbers so please take advantage of this opportunity to add this fantastic male! We have too many rose grey males and are leaning toward the dark side -- so as a classic light rose grey he was in a tough spot. Not uncommon in the world, a younger male beat him out, as our Artorius has stepped into this spot on our herdsire row. Therefore, we have put Dauntless for sale at a very nice price to help him move to a farm that make him happy by utilizing his great peronality, attributes, and lineage in their own breeding program. Congratulations to Brandon Siglar and Austin Swain of Elderwood Alpacas for adding Dauntless to their great breeding program! We look forward to seeing pictures of the fantastic offspring he will produce.

Starshire's Aoife

HuacayaBred (Female)Dark Silver Grey
AOA# 35074182DOB: 3/17/20168 yrs
Starshire’s Aoife (pronounced EE-fa -- a great Celtic name for a girl born on St. Patrick’s day) is a well grown dam with solid bones, strong conformation, a beautiful headstyle and coverage with a lovely fine fleece, soft handle and amazing fiber stats at 16.4 AFD! Her dam, HRF Caryzma, is one of Starshire's reported best dams that produces show quality, ribbon winning, beautiful alpacas. Aoife’s maternal grandsire is 21x Champion Peruvian Challenger. Her sire is Snowmass Golden Chaccu, a Snowmass Black Out son and a Snowmass Matrix grandson. Aoife clearly has a lineage worthy of an excellent service sire... luckily we have a few available! For her first breeding, we paired here with grey champion, Dauntless in attempt to capitalize on her heritage and modern grey fiber. Her fawn male, Jasper, is really shaping up to be a fantastic male -- nicely sized with excellent conformation, and sporting a fleece filled with crimpy, shiny, soft fiber. Despite not being the requested grey coloration, he is a nice male that can be a good herdsire for another farm. She has given us a true black girl by our Black Maelstrom that we named Maeve (pronounced May-v), who is staying on our farm, and then this year a light fawn girl by our modern rose grey Magistrate that we named Siobhan (prounanced shaw-vawn) that is on our sales list only because we are downsizing and so will only keep one Aoife girl. Both girls are very fine and shiny with nice crimp. Aoife is ultrasound-confirmed bred to our Major General who has made impressively solid boned, well grown blacks and greys for us.

Description

It is hard to get a good profile picture of this boy because with his inquistive and friendly nature, he just keeps following you around the paddock to see what you are doing! We looked at this boy's fleece recently (Nov '20), and his fiber is looking nice and crimpy! We would have showed him this year if circumstances had allowed. This boy is well grown, solid boned male that will sport a nice fleece. We cannot keep our most of our boys in our program, so we have to make the hard decision to move them to other farms' breeding programs. He deserves to be part of a breeding program but won't be able to here at our farm since we have is dam/sire. This boy is an easy risk for the discerning breeder who recognizes a good deal and great potential.
