This good-old Monté-Cristo is with us since 2008, purchased shy of his weaning days. He has always been in direct competition for breeding against his sire, MMR Marcoyo (who wouldn’t pick Marcoyo first back in those days?), his cousin/paternal brother the ever-handsome Mortimer, and his 2 uncles Andrade and Figaro. I could also add that we owned his older full sister too, Theodara, in addition to her daughters! Although underused in our program, he has proven himself to be worthy of the task with his progeny performances in the showings, granting him a 3rd place out of 9 in Get of Sire back in 2015. He combines some of the best names you could find in Canada from the 2000’s with Victor’s Vaccoyo, Coyo Destini and some Jolimont imports. For our part, we’ve moved from this era with newer genetics, leaving once again Monte as an unused male at our farm… However, these old*er* traits her carries could perhaps bring something great to the table. Staple length and bold crimp. Monte produces offspring with 6” staples and beautiful crimp styles!

Xenia's impact on our breeding program impressive. Hard to belive when you look at her head style, but some of our best heads come from her! Xenia is the daughter of ACA Crispina, a Hemingway grand-daughter. Her paternal side packs on some impressive genetics: her sire is a Supreme Champion Vaccoyo son from a 3x Reserve Champion Alpamayo daughter. Her great-grand-dam is MMR Arecelle, daugther of a stunning Australian import Jolimont Peruvian Arequipa that also produced Colour Champion and the dam of 3 of our past herdsires, Arequipina. When you combine Hemingway, Alpamayo and Vaccoyo, you have amazing results. Xenia was purchased in March 2008. We didn't participate in shows before 2012, so unfortunatly this girl missed the show ring, but I am confident she would have done well. Back then, conformations were less strict (at least in Eastern Canada). Her fleece has an amazing crimp style, if I compare her samples to Allure's, it is very similar in term of frequency and amplitude. At 13, there is still a bit of crimp in her fleece. Her 2013 male sired by Andrade, Amadeo is our gentle giant. He is still the prettiest alpaca in terms of conformation. He is very macho. Also winner of 3rd place in show, he would have been a perfect alpaca if only he had fineness, which was lacking very often on Andrade's progeny. 5th cria is Aquarelle, a Monte-Cristo daughter. Aquarelle won the 1st place in show. She is producing beautiful crias, especially with Magnus. 6th cria is another girl by Andrade. Adrenaline is one of our prettiest females. She only won a 4th place in show, but her offsprings are stunning and Champions!. Her first cria Aucean is a 1st place winner, her second is a Reserve Champion grey male, her 3rd cria is Fawn Colour Champion and Best Crimp winner with a score of 85/100! 7th cria is sired by Chananza. Allure inherit her dam's conformation, but her fleece is so stunning! She could have won 4 championship ribbons if she had an improved conformation (comments from a judge), instead she retired from her show career with 3 Championship wins... Not too shabby! At 5, her fleece hasn't chance! The same crimp, the same length, nice handle and density. Cria 8th and 9th are females, now sold.

AVEREGAN'S MAGNUS

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Fawn

Magnus has done so much for us! He has been a cornerstone in our breeding program, improving every female he was bred to and producing Champions like no other males to date did for us. 6x Champion and 2x Best in Show – both in fleece and halter – Magnus is quite the package. In fleece show, he scored 89/100. Not to shabby in my opinion! He is a solid and stunning macho. His fleece is incredibly dense, shiny and well defined. His sire is Xanadu P Resolute, a male that made a tremendous impact in the Eastern Canadian industry. His dam is a Cimmaron Gold Legend daughter that produced 4x Supreme Champion Averegan’s Merida. Magnus shares almost the exact genetics as 7x Black Champion Averegan’s Aftershock, another Resolute x Cimmaron Gold Legend cross. The best way to judge the potential of a herdsire is by his progeny, and frankly Magnus did deliver. His progeny has great well-built conformations with solid bones and dispositions. Fleece-wise, they are all an improved version of their dams’ fleece. Producing crias from white to black and grey that are having fleeces as fine as 14.2 microns (Anrhumé – WH) with outstanding staple length and fleece weight, add to that crimp from skin to tip and great shine. His very first cria, Nyla of Peterboro, won the Combined Brown Colour Champion title in Fall 2019. Since then, Magnus has produced Champions in every colour, from white to black and grey. In fleece shows, his progeny reached up to 86.5/100 and culminated titles of "Judge's Choice", “Best Crimp” and “Best Brightness”! His black daughter, Miss Andean Shadow du DNA, is a 4x Champion that scored up to 79/100 – a score rarely given to blacks in Canada. As a bonus, our first generation of Magnus daughters are now producing Champions! Any breeders that want to improve their performances in the showings, the conformation on their animals and increase their production of quality fleeces should consider Averegan’s Magnus as their next herdsire. Don’t miss this chance to improve your herd! Colour genotype: Ee Aa1

Description

Aquarelle is a nice little female from our 2014 cria crop. She is by far the best female sired by Aristo Milord Monte-Cristo. She did very well in the show ring, winning a 1st and 2nd place in competitive white classes. She as a small fawn spot on her cheek and is a strong asset in our colour breeding program. No wonder why this female is special, look at those genetics. Her sire is full brother to our first purchased alpaca, Aristo Milady Theodora. Their sire is MMR Marcoyo (Vaccoyo's son) and dam is Reserve Champion Coyo Destini daughter, MMR Tucoya.Theodora's last female offspring is our Reserve Champion and (so far) best producer, Lady Aure du DNA. Theodora's genetics bred to Magnus's is creating magic. Her two grand-crias from Magnus are just spectacular, go check on Miss At Broadway and A Gold N' Roses. Aquarelle's crias from Magnus have stunning fleece and staple length! Looking at her maternal line, it just gets better. Her dam is ACA Xenia. Yes, Aquarelle is half-sister to 3x Champion Allure! Her grandsire is a Judge's Choice winner and 4x Champion Vaccoyo son from a 3x Reserve Champion Alpamayo daughter. There's a lot of champions in this girl's ancestors! 1st cria (sold) is a beige male from ARA Chananza with amazing fineness. 2nd cria (sold) is a light fawn female from Aristo Danton. 18.6 microns fleece with great crimp. 3rd cria is Noble Appleton du DNA, sired by Magnus. Appleton has some crazy staple length and crimp that is so uniform across the staple and blanket. Magnus has increased the density a lot! 4th cria is another fawn male named Ander. He is a bit darker than his full older brother Appleton but other than that, they're carbon copies in terms of conformation. So far, Ander surpasses Appleton in terms of fleece quality, which makes us very exited! 5th cria is another male from Magnus. Hoping for a girl in 2022!
