Uniform Fleece with abundance of length!

Sir Galahans Legacy Zappa

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)White, Light Fawn
AOA# 32803655DOB: 9/9/201311 yrs
We are very pleased to have Zappa on our farm. Zappa is the full package and we are please with what is seen in his offspring in the abundance of length. Where do we start in describing this guy? His fleece is phenomenal in many ways, uniformity from head to toe in coverage, density, volume, amplitude with heavy crimp and brilliance. His fleece is extremely soft to the touch, you just can not keep your hands out of it. Zappa has the sweetest personality with his human friends and is quite the gentleman with his alpaca ladies. Zappa's First Cria arrive July of 2017 a fabulous male, his fleece is very promising, the brightness in his fleece is impressive. Looking forward to seeing his fleece after shearing in 2018. Zappa has several babies on the ground, two will be ready for breeding this year with Zappa's reputation of producing long staple length, his babies show it. His daughter's have over four inches of growth on them now November of 2020, just had to measure their growth while they in in the breeding pen. Update on Fiber Density results: Data Details: Density, 63.5 / Secondary: Primary fiber ratio 10.6:1 In-skin mean primary fiber diameter 24.5 / Standard deviation 2.8 In-skin mean secondary fiber diameter 21.0 / Standard deviation 2.6 Test comments: The density number is moderate and while the two fiber population averaged, range and uniformity are higher that one would like to see it is important to remember that this male is 79 months of age.... It is generally accepted that working males will tend to move their fleece micron to the higher numbers after 60 months of age and along with that come an increase in standard deviation.

Fineness in all that fluff!!

Kim Novak

HuacayaBred (Female)Beige
AOA# 35024439DOB: 7/28/201212 yrs
Kim Novak, Aka Kimmi is a very sweet female with a laid back personality, at first we just called her "Blondie" but that didn't seem to fit her with her fleece coloring appearing to be white seeing her in the paddock, but, part that fleece and she is really a stunning very light FAWN!!! Let's talk about her fleece character, did we say that she is very fine? Crimp can be seen at the skin, as her fleece grows out the weight of her fleece along with the fineness some of the crimp is pulled out. The Brilliance of her fleece is show from skin to tip, the fleece judges discounted her fleece because of the vegetable matter. Well, we have that rectified, she is presenting with a cleaner fleece this year. As we have seen this girl mature, so has her fleece, she has gone from a fluff ball to a sleek and together fleece that has improved greatly.

Description

Cinnabar a Pinto believe it or not he carries his parents markings, being light in color the very light fawn saddle can clearly be seen when his fleece is short, as his fleece grows out the light fawn saddle blends in with his main color white. He may be small in stature now; given time we believe he will blossom like his herd sire Zappa. He has the whole package in the fleece department, not only does his fleece has crimp but is showing bundling in the growth from the skin. His fleece is extremely fine and silky to the touch that just glistens when you part his fleece. As we watch this little guy mature are impressed with the character of his fleece uniformity with very little primaries seen until low in his bib and his body. With his parents quality characteristics there is potential of him becoming a quality fleece producing alpaca and possibly as a herd sire for someone willing to invest in giving him the time to prove out with maturity.
