Sir Galahans Legacy Zappa

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)White, Light Fawn
AOA# 32803655DOB: 9/9/201311 yrs
We are very pleased to have Zappa on our farm. Zappa is the full package and we are please with what is seen in his offspring in the abundance of length. Where do we start in describing this guy? His fleece is phenomenal in many ways, uniformity from head to toe in coverage, density, volume, amplitude with heavy crimp and brilliance. His fleece is extremely soft to the touch, you just can not keep your hands out of it. Zappa has the sweetest personality with his human friends and is quite the gentleman with his alpaca ladies. Zappa's First Cria arrive July of 2017 a fabulous male, his fleece is very promising, the brightness in his fleece is impressive. Looking forward to seeing his fleece after shearing in 2018. Zappa has several babies on the ground, two will be ready for breeding this year with Zappa's reputation of producing long staple length, his babies show it. His daughter's have over four inches of growth on them now November of 2020, just had to measure their growth while they in in the breeding pen. Update on Fiber Density results: Data Details: Density, 63.5 / Secondary: Primary fiber ratio 10.6:1 In-skin mean primary fiber diameter 24.5 / Standard deviation 2.8 In-skin mean secondary fiber diameter 21.0 / Standard deviation 2.6 Test comments: The density number is moderate and while the two fiber population averaged, range and uniformity are higher that one would like to see it is important to remember that this male is 79 months of age.... It is generally accepted that working males will tend to move their fleece micron to the higher numbers after 60 months of age and along with that come an increase in standard deviation.

The COMPLETE PACKAGE

501'S Golden Girl

HuacayaOpen (Female)White
AOA# 32630008DOB: 11/2/201212 yrs
Golden Girl "GG" is all that and a bag of chips with salsa! She has excellent coverage from head to toe and her fleece is extremely fine and very uniform from head to toe. She is a wonderful example of what can be expected from the progeny of Levi's 501 of Hummingherd. Her fleece stats say it all with a micron count at 3 years of age of 19.2, SD of 4.8, C of V 24.9% with fibers greater than 30 at 2.1%. Her micron results show what quality of fleece she has at maturity, given her ,siblings fleece qualities we expect her to hold her fleece qualities. GG is a devoted Mom and delivers her cria' effortlessly, she is a heavy milk producer with her cria's to date gaining weight well. GG last two cria have been females both white and stunning, Opal being the oldest of the two will be bred this fall, Patience is still at her side and available, she will be six months old soon GG is not currently bred as we thought we'd give a her break from her busy breeding career and possible breed her this fall, I'm considering breeding her to AZA Apache Gold. If you purchase her you would be able to pick from any available breeding male on the farm.

Excellent Density with fineness!

AZA Apache Gold

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Light Fawn
AOA# 35079354DOB: 6/14/20168 yrs
Apache is an impressive fellow with what he holds in him and on him, he is confirmationaly straight and sound with fleece qualities and character that his Ancestry dictates. His fleece remains clean from skin to tip holding little if any vegetable matter on his fleece. His fleece is dense, crimpy with a lustrous character that has put him on the Breeding Herd sire list as his fleece has matured into something to be proud of. He has settled a couple of our girls with cria due fall of 2020, produced all girls, so far. he has one 2019 offspring on the ground and her fleece is impressive! 2021 total on his cria's to date is four girls one boy!!! Update: Fiber Density stats Data Details: Density: 79.0/mm Secondary: Primary fiber Ratio: 12.1:1 In-skin mean primary fiber diameter: 22.8 / Standard Deviation 2.7 In-skin mean secondary fiber diameter 19.2/ Standard Deviation 2.7 Report Comments: Very good density with two highly uniform fiber populations and a very good fiber population differential of 3.6 microns. These are very good numbers for a fawn alpaca Sire! And you Should see his girls!!! Oh my Goodness! sporting his color to the color of the female he's bred to with all of his locks of dense crimpy and very shinny fleece

Description

Opal is really something! She’s got her Sire’s looks, her Dam’s stature and a uniform combination of their fleece qualities. She’s a fleece producer! Her fleece is just awesome, fineness with density, brilliance, that is iridescent in the sun light, strong crimp with bundling just oozing from her skin; she’s got all the quality I was expecting. Oh, and did I say she’s fine! Oh! the volume of fleece developing on her is just astounding! over five inches of growth, which I was expecting from her Sire Zappa, who is still producing length of 4 inches or more each year. Opal is just so cute with the teddy bear face and ears; she could be in my opinion a wonderful asset to the discriminating breeder. Her confirmation is straight and sound with balance giving her a graceful gate, her bit is correct. Bred to our Apache she produced an impressive little boy with his dad's coloring, he is the only male born from Apache to date out of five cria's on the ground. I'm so impressed with the pairing of Apache to Opal that I repeated it, with fingers crossed for repeat, of the female persuasion.
