Noeme, we call her Eme, is one of the finest, densest fleeced girls on the farm in the fawn color group. She is conformationally sound and straight with a perfect bite, she is a great mom to her cria's and breeds and births easily. Eme's genetics dictate her quality in fleece production and in her cria's when bred to like quality or better male. Her latest female cria out of Firenze is stunning, She is the best of mom's she has produced a promising male in 2016 followed by a stunning female in 2017 she is bred again. Bred to Belvedere for a 2018 cria Eme surprised us with a stunning male that is a light rose grey, showing promise of having a fleece with brightness, fineness and character!! Well Eme and Belvedere are three for three pairing's producing look a like brothers, yup, they are all grey 2019 and 2020 cria's! She lost her cria, will be breeding her back to our new stud Shot Of Rumm soon!

Description

Apache is an impressive fellow with what he holds in him and on him, he is confirmationaly straight and sound with fleece qualities and character that his Ancestry dictates. His fleece remains clean from skin to tip holding little if any vegetable matter on his fleece. His fleece is dense, crimpy with a lustrous character that has put him on the Breeding Herd sire list as his fleece has matured into something to be proud of. He has settled a couple of our girls with cria due fall of 2020, produced all girls, so far. he has one 2019 offspring on the ground and her fleece is impressive! 2021 total on his cria's to date is four girls one boy!!! Update: Fiber Density stats Data Details: Density: 79.0/mm Secondary: Primary fiber Ratio: 12.1:1 In-skin mean primary fiber diameter: 22.8 / Standard Deviation 2.7 In-skin mean secondary fiber diameter 19.2/ Standard Deviation 2.7 Report Comments: Very good density with two highly uniform fiber populations and a very good fiber population differential of 3.6 microns. These are very good numbers for a fawn alpaca Sire! And you Should see his girls!!! Oh my Goodness! sporting his color to the color of the female he's bred to with all of his locks of dense crimpy and very shinny fleece

By reducing primary fiber diameter, ‘guard hair’ is also eventually eliminated.
This will increase fleece weight
Primary and secondary fibers need to be increased in number (by selective breeding) in order for the number of follicles per group (expressed as S/P ratio) and follicle density (expressed as follicles per square millimeter) to increase. As follicle numbers per follicle group increase the pressure on the primary hair to perform like a secondary is increased and so they become less and less distinguishable within a staple or lock.
This is an important point.
The aim is to produce primary fibers that are so fine as to be virtually indistinguishable from the secondary fibers.
Looking forward…
