A Paca Fun's Super Sonic is the culmination of 3 generations of breeding for elite gray. Beyond his eye appeal, and solid conformation, Sonic's fleece is exceptional. His fleece is dense, fine and displays a "3 dimensional crimp style" not often seen in grays. It also exhibits extreme uniformity of color, with most of the individual fibers being actually gray (as opposed to a mixture of black and white). All of this in combination makes Sonic one of the best total package gray males we have ever seen... and apparently the Judges agree with us! Following in his sire and grandsires footsteps, Sonic has been a force to be reckon with in the show ring. To date he has 14 championships, 12 of them being won consecutively! On top of this, at VAOBA 2014 Sonic set a new record for gray, becoming the first gray male Judges' Choice in Halter! While success in the show ring is exciting, to us a males true worth is his ability to pass on his traits to his offspring, so it was with eager anticipation that we waited for Sonic's first batch of cria. Well... they are here, and they have exceeded our expectations! Not only is Sonic stamping on his perfect conformation and eye appeal, but the fleeces are some of the best produced on our farm to date. The Judges continue to agree with us, as the first crop of Sonic kids have hit the show ring with a "bang". We couldn't be more excited to watch this 4th generation of our breeding program grow and develop!

Take a look at that picture - bright, beautiful and what a handle. Dozy was awarded a 4th place in a class of 10 at her first show, MOPACA, over her sister Mairzy in 5th place. Jude loved her handle and brightness, and also commented positively on her conformation. Dozy then took a 6th place in a monster class of 16 beautiful true black juvenile females at GWAS, beating 10 top alpacas. ;^) Helen Humphries said it was her very soft handle and uniformity that helped her stand out in such a tough group. Then we sheared her and brought her fleece to Nationals - where she won a second place to her sister Mairzy's first, with very similar scores. Their dad Zeppelin was Color Champion Black at the National Fleece Show too - with his 4th fleece!

Co- owned with our friends at Kendall Creek Farms Well, after a few misses, we were able to get arguably our top black female bred to Snowmass Midnight Diamonte', and boy was it worth the wait!! The result is our KCF Phenom Noir, a true black macho male that we feel has a tremendous head start toward a fabulous career at KCF. Not since Diamonte' himself have we seen the combination of fleece structure and handle on a true black fleece. It simply feels like a plush berber carpet of alpaca. And at his first trip away from the ranch in Ohio, the judges apparently agreed, Phenom won both his yearling male classes as the youngest in both, and with a large number of entries in each. Then it was on to Virginia for their dual show and the results were similar - but even better; a first and second with both being followed by Reserve Championships!! Now we're talking!
