A Paca Fun's Intrigue

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Light Silver Grey
AOA# 30608290DOB: 5/24/200717 yrs
Another outstanding classic silver gray male sired by Silver Legend of KPR. Intrigue has uniform consistency in both fleece architecture and micron. He has a "zipper" crimp style (high amplitude, moderate to high frequency) that is present from shoulder to hip. His fleece has excellent handle and, at 8 years of age, lasting fineness. His show record speaks for itself, but more importantly so do his offspring. The most notable is A Paca Fun's Super Sonic, but Intrigue has sired many other multi champion cria who have gone on to be amazing producers themselves.

Glacier Rocks Calamity Jane

HuacayaBred (Female)Dark Fawn
AOA# 31431576DOB: 7/12/200816 yrs
Our goal is to produce high quality alpacas with beautiful fleeces in COLOR, including black. Calamity Jane has what we are breeding for: type, conformation, and a wonderful fleece - and the pedigree to back it up. Calamity's pedigree combines the bloodlines of two of the top show & fleece lines - Royal Fawn and Legacy, with a stong heritage for BLACK: her sire and his sire both have black offspring, and her Chilean granddams both carry the ability to produce BLACK offspring. Chances are, Calamity can produce black crias, too. And with her quality, we won't care if we get WHITE from her! Her fleece is dense, fine, soft hanlding, with well defined crimp with good ampltitude and medium frequency. Though registered as fawn, it may really be rose grey. Whatever color they are, Calamity's crias are sure to carry on the tradition of quality. Pedigree: Her sire, Sandman, like Segundo de Royal Fawn, has sired crias in all colors, including BLACK and GREY! More important is the quality of those cria, and we are pleased. Sandman's dam, Satine, is a daughter of NZ Maori Magic. Maori Magic has sired many successful show winners - and his daughters are PRODUCING CHAMPIONS: like Futurity Reserve Champion HHF Segundo's Sonatina - and multiple Champion Beethoven!!! Maori Magic had an AFD of 25 mircons at age 12. This is unheard of for a true BLACK breeding male! Dam line: Amaretta is an eye-catching daughter of the legendary Legacy. Need we say more? Anxiously awaiting latest cria. Her dam brings another dose of color to Calamity's pedigree, being a true black. ***Bred to 4 timie Champion HIdden Hill Peruvian Pundit - full brother to the 2009 Futurity Champion White Male, Hidden Hill Peruvian Dually!!!!

Description

Brokered for Howling Hills Farm in Keene, New Hampshire! Sold open -- no breedings, no guarantees. Licorice is a gorgeous girl, the kind that starts off as "so cute you can't stand it" and grows up into "stately and gorgeous." Her pedigree has no holes in it. Her sire, A Paca Fun's Intrigue, is a son of Silver Legend of KPR, and is best known as the sire of 14x champion Super Sonic. With only seventeen registered offspring so far, Intrigue's get are not exactly a common commodity. Another neat thing about him is that Licorice is only one of four (yes, four of seventeen) offspring who are NOT grey. It's the luck of the draw, with color genetics, but we're glad she was black, because if she had been grey, she would almost certainly never have been for sale! Licorice's dam, Calamity Jane, is a "dappled" fading fawn. What is a "dappled" fawn, you ask? Darned if I know what, but she is, indisputably, medium to dark fawn with darker fawn dapples. She is also gorgeous. Calamity isn't quite an appaloosa, but it is almost as though she is trying really hard to be one. Her sire, Sandman, is the full brother to futurity reserve champion Segundo's Sonatina. His sire is the great El Segundo de Royal Fawn and his dam, Satine, is an invariable producer of excellence. Calamity Jane's dam sire is the great 4P Legacy, and her tail line is truly true black. Licorice herself has matured into a stately, tall, elegant adult. Her conformation is perfect. She has good bone and an excellent spring of rib, along with a wide chest, shoulders and hips, and outstanding development of the rear. Her coverage is terrific, and she has, without exaggeration, the best head I have ever seen on a black or grey. Her muzzle is short, wide and deep, with a slight Roman nose and forward-facing nostrils, and excellent fiber coverage. When I first met Licorice, she was about a month old, and I instantly fell in love with her. On viewing her as a yearling, I did not feel that she had the density I was looking for. The fallacy of that assumption was uncovered at shearing. Her annualized shear weight was 4.6 pounds, and with an AFD of 18 microns, that equates to a nicely dense first fleece. Her fleece is wonderfully soft, incredibly bright, and slick. Licorice slipped her 2015 breeding, likely because she was not as physically mature as I had thought -- she has done a lot more growing between then and now.
