MRN Prime Starrr

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)White
DOB: 11/29/201410 yrs
Prime Starrr, aka "Rocky", is a compact male with a correct, sturdy, proud conformation, and knock-out fleece. Take a look at his 2017 histogram: at 2 1/2 years of age his AFD is 20, spin fineness 19.3, >30 is only 1.3%, and STAPLE LENGTH is 102.6! The AOA fleece judge commented on this being a BIG fleece--Jude didn't know that he's actually a compact guy. Prime Starrr has beautiful definition of bundles with long staple length, tight and uniform crimp, and a bright fine fleece rounds out the picture. He also has an excellent bite. Even his leg and neck fleece get sent to the mill for yarn--they are better than most others' prime fleeces! (Note that because of his heavy fleece, he would need precautions taken if he goes to a farm where summers are hot and/or humid. At minimum, he might need to have his belly shorn or perhaps be shorn twice a year.) None of this should surprise--his dam, Accoyo America Morning Star is a full-Accoyo Ullysses daughter. When I bought her at the 2009 Parade of Champions, Greg Mecklum pointed out to me that Morning Star had the best uniformity scores on histogram of any alpaca in their catalogue! Rocky's sire, Gem State's Optimus Prime, is a son of the acclaimed PC Running Late--a fawn Accoyo Titan son known for long staple length, fineness, and bright fleece. Despite his compact size, Rocky likes to take the lead in a group of males. I don't think I've ever seen another male try to dominate him. He is calm and easy to handle, with a proud presence wherever he goes. Rocky would make an excellent herdsire for a high quality huacaya breeding program--he can definitely improve the quality of most females. We have bred him to our top huacaya girl--a Matrix daughter. They both have fineness, uniformity of micron, density, and great crimp, but Prime Starrr adds his fantastic staple length--and his perfect bite is a great asset. Way to go, Rocky! He has his first ultrasound-proven pregnancy!! Due in December, 2018.

Snowmass Matrix Cashmina

HuacayaOpen (Female)Beige
AOA# 30339323DOB: 5/28/200915 yrs
Snowmass Matrix Cashmina is the very treasured daughter of a prized light fawn Snowmass female, Snowmass Cashmina who sold for a pretty penny at the Making of Champions Auction. Her sire is the living legend, Snowmass Matrix. Cashmina carries the perfect conformation, uniformity and density of fleece, and presence of her illustrious sire. Her first cria has "Snowmass" written all over him--that presence and conformation and lovely fleece! Cashmina had a gorgeous white male cria in early July, 2012, by Snowmass Seven Below. In honor of his parents, his name is Snowmass Cold Cash. See how proud and perfect his conformation is! Snowmass Matrix Cashmina bred to Snowmass Best Man, before he went off to the good life in Switzerland. She had a lovely daughter, MRN Best Man's Ultima from that breeding. She is now bred to our Halter and Fleece RC, MRN Prime Starrr. There isn't much to improve on Cashmina, but Prime Starrr repeats a lot of her outstanding characteristics AND contributes a super-long staple length and perfect bite. Cashmina is at our farm in the North San Francisco Bay area, Alpacas of Marin.

Description

MRN Estella is a very special girl. Her dam, Snowmass Matrix Cashmina, has produced elite offspring, including the incredible Snowmass Cold Cash who has had 3 or 4 EPDs in the top 1% for each of the past 4 years! Estrella's dam is a Matrix daughter with outstanding EPDs, but her background includes Snowmass XXXtreme and plenty of Hemingway. Estrella's multi-champion sire is an Accoyo America Ulysses grandson with a background that includes the legendary PC Running Late. At 6 months of age, Estrella already has EPDs in the top 5%, even though we have not submitted fleece for analysis. These figures are based on the vast data from her parents and forebears--now THAT'S evidence of the depth of her genetic potential! She has a perfect square conformation with good coverage and a well-balanced frame. Her fleece has a long staple length (from her sire) with a moderate crimp frequency. And she has her dam's lovely fuzzy ears! More importantly, she has the genetic potential to bump your breeding program up a knotch!! Estrella comes with a breeding to any of our males. She is ready to breed NOW!!(Fall, 2020) I'd suggest a Matrix line breed to our MRN Matrix Lord of Sipan. He knocked it out of the ball park with Mas Snowmas, his son out of Estrella's half sister! Or, take advantage of our Nautilus son, Accoyo America Tempest. He brings incredible density, fineness, and crimp to the table. This could produce one of Nautilus' last grandchildren. Or, if you want to wait until 2021, she will be perfectly matched with Sipan's 2019 son, Mas Snowmas. He is a line breed on both Matrix AND Quechua, and he is fabulous! Estrella is on our farm in the North San Francisco Bay area. **Make an "AlpacaPackage"!! We will sell her with her dam, Snowmass Matrix Cashmina, for an additional $1500! A Matix daughter with top 1% EPDs, still looking good after 6 crias, and the loveliest face this side of a L'Oreal advertisement!**
