UPDATE- HIS TRUE-BLACK 2011 DAUGHTER, GEE GEE, JUST TOOK THE CHAMPIONSHIP AT PAOBA 2012!!! Drifter is an AWESOME Medium-Fawn son of Snowmass Legacy Gold, and grandson of 4Peruvian Legacy. Dam is Accoyo America Pali, who is a daughter of PCA Accoyo El Nino. El Nino is a PPeruvian Caligula son. This is a unique cross that has produced a wonderful young male! Drifter is extremely fine, super dense, superb crimp style, flawless conformation with great bone, and a beautiful typey head-style. Just an amazing male. He won the FAWN MALE COLOR CHAMPIONSHIP at Mapaca 2008 at just 7 months old!! Drifter's first 2010 cria have arrived, and they are stunning. 2 males and 2 females. A Medium Fawn, 2 Dark Browns, and a Rose Gray!! VERY strong cria from the get go! ALL are very dense, super crimp, very fine, with flawless conformations. And his 2011 cria are fabulous as well. LOT of girls too!! ALL colors including a "Modern" Rose Gray!! Julie Skinner of Snowmass Alpacas was right. He CAN also throw GRAY !!!!! And a real nice "Modern" to boot!! We are thrilled. And his "LEGACY" continues with more awesome 2012 cria!! He has now thrown, Fawn, Brown, Maroon, Black, and both GRAYS, "Classic" and "Modern". We are elated at the quality of Drifter's cria!! And also at the high ratio of FEMALE offspring!! Go Drifter!! He is giving us the COLOR we strive for in our breeding program! After all "BREEDING FINE COLOR" is our tag line!! It's what we expected with his genetics.

We purchased this Houdini breeding several years ago, but a few attempts didn't work out, so we took one of our favorite producers, Petra out for the breeding. Once and done, Petra came home pregnant and had a completely problem free pregnancy - and delivery. We knew this one would be white, or would have been surprised if he wasn't! What surprised us on the day we tipped him was the huge extra folds of skin on his neck and shoulder area. This boy is going to be DENSE! He is built like a little Sherman Tank. Standing shorter than the other crias born at the same time, this guy has at least 20 or more pounds on them! He stands solid as a rock. Each time his Juvie fleece was shown in 2016, it did better than the last ending the season with 2 firsts and a championship. He also won 2 youth championships in 2016 at PAOBA and MAPACA. He was selected to represent the alpaca industry in PA at the 2017 PA Farm Show where he and his youth handler met Governor Wolf! Mike has a few girls confirmed pregnant in the fall of 2020. We sadly lost Mike to an unresolved issue with kidney stones. He was always one of my favorite alpacas, kind to humans and alpacas, never a problem and always willing to endure my hugs. Luckily, 2 of the breedings we did produced offspring after Mikey's passing. Always in my heart - R.I.P. Magic Mike.
