From the moment he was born, we knew this boy was exceptional. His bright, dark rose gray fleece is fine, full of character, with great crimp and architecture. In his first show at North American, as an unshorn cria, he took the blue against some pretty stiff competition. Silver Lining has gone on to win 13 championships and 17 blue ribbons and he hasn't finished yet! Great bloodlines, great fleece and a strong, solid build -- watch for this boy -- he is truly something special. His sire is Crystal Spartan, the 2010 Brown Huacaya Male Futurity Color Champion who has taken five other top Championship banners. His dam, Quarry Ridge Marimba, is a Champion herself and has produced champion offspring. Silver Lining has inherited outstanding characteristics from outstanding parents. Silver-Lining has five crias on the ground and more on the way this fall. Two are modern rose gray and other three are true black. Silver Lining will be standing stud at Quarry Ridge Alpacas in Salem, NY from June 1 to October 30 and at Clover Bottom Alpaca Ranch in Clover Bottom, MO from November 1 to May 30. Snowmass Silver Waves brings alpaca beauty to roan. Uniform in her colors and eye catching, a smokey rose gray beauty from close and afar. "She is in our mind, truly the perfect gray alpaca," Julie Skinner said, adding that she stands out in a herd of hundreds of animals. Julie explained that they did not really want to let this one go, but decided to put her up for sale so that she could be used as a foundation girl in a gray breeding program. We didn't hesitate to pick her up for our herd and we she did not disappoint. She is a true beauty that has, so far, given us one outstanding female cria. Silver Waves is currently bred to 13X Banner winner Spartan's Silver- Lining for a fall 2018 cria - a cria we anticipate will bring waves of roan excellence. We are super excited about this one and will be happy to keep this girl in our breeding program if she does not sell. Silver Waves took 2nd place at the 2014 Futurity.
