We are now closing Legionnaire to outside breedings. With hi weight fluctuation and age we think it best to keep him in house. He has many sons working for us!
To say we were excited to partner with Amber Autumn Alpacas with CCNF Legionnaire at the 2014 Breeders Edge Auction would be an understatement, a huge one. In a long run, Legionnaire went on to be the highest selling alpaca at the auction (we bought him for $57,500), figures considering this guys genetics.
This spectacular young male was the 2015 Futurity Fawn Male Color Champion & 2015 AOA National Fawn Male Reserve Champion!! Two of the most prestigious shows in the alpaca industry and he took home purple. Ending his show career with four Judges' Choice awards and nine Championship awards.
By one of the world’s great sires, out of a female from a sensational family line who has made a huge impact on the United States industry, here we have a male bred on a cross that has been proven to produce champions.
CCNF Legionnaire, a son of Snowmass Matirx Majesty, has enjoyed extraordinary success as a sire with championship winners in both the United States and Canada and his offspring being found in Poland, United States, Canada, and Australia. Overall, his offspring have won many championships and even Judges’ Choice and National Championship titles. Even more impressive, his son Red Granites Pallaton (Now resides in Poland) won the 2018 Canadian Supreme Champion Male award, Palltons offspring have had much success in the Canadian show rings themselves. Another son by Legionnaire, Red Granites Man of Mystery (Owned by Willow Wind Farm Alpacas) is the densest alpaca yet biopsied by Ian Watt in the USA, and we have not yet heard of a denser alpaca out there a at a whopping 127.2 follicles/square mm density. His daughter, Red Granites Pixie was sold at the 2018 Amber Autumn Auction for a pretty penny, where she was purchased by EP Cambridge Alpaca Stud in Australia.
Combining Cas-Cad-Nac's powerhouse production female; CCNF Magdalena and Snowmass Matrix Majesty you would only hope for an advanced fleece, Legionnaire carries a extremely advanced fleece. He carried a six year old fleece with a AFD of 17.3 and SD of 2.5, SIMPLY UNREAL numbers for a six year old BREEDING male.
Legionnaire's breedings are limited, please contact us for more information.

Description
Red Granites Man Of Mystery (formerly known as Red Granites Pinctus), The perfect harlequin appaloosa fleeced alpaca. He has everything we look for, strength in the frame, great phenotype, confident spunky personality, and a simply divine fleece. There are so many wonderful terms to describe his fleece the most important is its extremely dense, fine, uniform, and, very consistent.
Judges favored him all throughout his show career, commenting on not only his exotic coloration but his extraordinary amount of density that he carried. At the 2018 AOA National Show, Judges commented on how Pinctus may just be one of the finest/dentist harlequin appaloosas out there, which is to be expected from his backstory of ancestors who are known for long-lasting fineness and density.
Taking a deeper dive into his color, which he gets from his great-grandsire, Black Epic, who is one of the most prolific Harlequin Appaloosa producers out there. Pinctus' fleece can be described as lavender coloration, a purple-fawn-rose/silver grey effect that mainly happens with harlequin alpacas, true harlequin alpacas to be exact. Having tones of lavender, fawn, white, and even brown spots from his head to toes, he is considered to be an appaloosa Harlequin huacaya, which no doubt will be passed on to his progeny.
"At 127.2 follicles/square mm density, Pintus is the densest alpaca yet biopsied by Ian Watt in the USA, and I have not yet heard of a denser alpaca out there. With a primary SD of 2.5, secondary SD of 2.2, and fiber population differential of 3.5, he is also one of the most uniform. To quote Ian Watt directly, "overall this is the best alpaca I have tested in the US." Kitt Hollister, Howling Hill Farms.
We would love to congratulate Kitt Holter of Howling Hill Farms for the purchase of Red Granites Pinctus, though he was just sold to Willow Wind Farm Alpacas and is back in colorado! He is restricted to breedings, but offspring are available says his new owner, Annie Hunt!
