SNOWMASS ROYAL LEGEND

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Fawn
AOA# 30700871DOB: 8/18/200618 yrs
To quote Julie Skinner "Royal Legend is one of their all time key Royal Challenger sons" He has extreme fineness and has continued to keep it". His AFD at age 7 (in 2013) is 20.8 microns....at age 7! His lineage is a who's who of famous alpacas featuring Hemingway, Bueno, and Augusto and there is a non Peruvian Way Back...but there isn't a ratio to claim it...so Full Peruvian is what we chose. His Dam is a Snowmass "All Time" favorite Royal white female from their key import 4Peruvian Isabella, who has since passed away. She was from a remote region known for fineness production and density- in line with Merino Sheep. Snowmass holds on to whatever genetics they can from her line, as it has been a great influence with lasting fineness and density of fleece across the board and her daughter, Queen Isabella, is living proof...couple this with Royal Challenger and a true Legend (Royal) is born. Royal Legend was on their lead show list however was injured just before show season and did not go on the tour. He recovered and they held on to him for their own breeding program. Julie chose his fleece over 50 other Fawns to enter into Nationals in 2008 and he took a respectable 3rd place in the largest class under Accoyo America Marathon. Because he was related to all Fawn and Dark through Royal Rose and Royal Reserve and many of their whites through Queen Isabella, they put Legend up for sale in the 2010 Pucara Premium Auction. He has Magnificent Fleece with extensive fineness over his entire frame, impeccable density and one of the brightest fawn fleeces in the Snowmass Herd! Because of his previously mentioned injury (aggravated at the 2010 Pucara Premium auction) Royal Legend will be selectively bred to Heaven's Hill Dark herd and those of our clients. He has 2 TB females in our herd to date... that are retained for our program! He is our secret weapon!

Sold as a Companion and Pet as she is easy to handle and a Joy to have here (a Fan Favorite to visitors of the farm) Isadora's charming personality and gentle demeanor fits our program quite well. Her fleece is fine with structure and length. Her best feature is her gorgeous head! She has a solid conformation with complete coverage from head to toe. This female descends from 4Peruvian Matador and Peruvian Macusani and is a proven production dam with plenty of milk and a VERY good mom! Isadora has passed on her fine fleece, rock solid conformation, and her wonderful head to her Cria. Nice girl!

COLOR CHAMPION GREY!!!

Sutton Wingman's Rusty

HuacayaYearling MaleDark Rose Grey
AOA# 36006151DOB: 7/23/20213 yrs
GENOTYPE: EE Aa1 Classic Grey This little guy definitely has the coolest facial markings! A stunning rosegrey male out of our Conopa XXX daughter, Ransom, and our amazing sire Wingman (Bomber) who's now back in the US. It's a first classic grey for Ransom and she made sure he was memorable! On top of his unique facial markings, Rusty's fleece has high frequency crimp, beautiful fineness and uniformity. He also has above average staple length and density to his fleece with great coverage from head to toe. He also has a calm demeanor which is always a big plus. We are really looking forward to seeing this boy grow into what we think will be an great herdsire one day! UPDATE: Rusty will be joining our herdsire row in 2024! Although he is related to some of our best females, we will still make sure to find him some great candidates for his first breeding season. This male is expressing an atypical classic grey phenotype because of his "Aa" genotype but he will produce classic greys at the same rate as a normal "fully expressed" classic grey ("aa"). We plan on favoring females carrying the double ASIP mutation "aa" in order to produce a higher rate of "fully expressed" classic offspring. When producing classic offspring with "aa" females, he will throw the "fully expressed" classic pattern ("aa") and the "atypical" classic pattern (Aa) on a 50/50 basis. We might be open to selling him but not until we can first secure a few offspring out of this amazing boy!

Description

Solidad is an all-around great female and has been one of our best classic girl! She was added to our breeding program when she was just shy of 4 years old when we spotted her while visiting farms in the US. We were looking for a new classic grey herdsire which we did find but also ended up purchasing Solidad as well as! We just couldn't pass on the opportunity to add this stunning female that had caught our attention! Solidad has a true-to-type conformation and a beautiful head style. She has amazing fleece qualities that are withstanding the test of time. She is truly the total package when it comes to classic greys! She looks LRG on the outside (probably from our fawn background) but she is definitely a LSG. She is one of our favorites here and she will be part of our grey breeding program until she is ready for retirement!!
