Gem State Starquest's Rocketman

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)White
AOA# 31419277DOB: 7/24/201014 yrs
Starquest's Rocketman ("Rocky" as we call him) was one of 6 white males born here on the farm in 2010. We knew within the first week he was going to be special, and it feels good to be right! Rocky represents Excellence in every category. Take a look below- - Pedigree. Rocky's sire is Snowmass Starquest- 2003 AOBA Champion and Futurity Reserve Champion. Starquest brings Augusto, Vengador, Navidad, and Isabella. Rocky's dam is our own Blossom of Snow. This Snowmass Perfection daughter has been a consistent producer of elite fleeced offspring that maintain fineness into adulthood. - Progeny- Rocky's first offspring, a female out of an Accoyo America Ulysses daughter born 10/2013, is DENSE, DENSE. As she has grown we are seeing excellent organization in a fleece that is extremely bright and fine. ******She just won the Reserve Color Championship in the white class at CABA 2015!********* Rocky's cria from 2014 are nothing short of spectacular- excellent density levels, high curvature character, and a very high degree of fineness. If you are looking to infuse lasting fineness with consistency and bring density as well as a high frequency/low amplitude (think zipper crimp) crimp style, then strongly consider introducing Rocketman to your girls and see the results and improvement first hand. Fleece samples available upon request. Combine his 5 year histogram, EPD stature, consistency seen across his first group of offspring from a variance of dams, and his genetic depth- a move from our farm to yours is a solid and worthwhile investment. With our move to sell the herd, we can easily say Rocky has all the superior qualities in a stud- he has routinely stamped superior and sustained fineness in his offspring, along with stamping his head that he inherited from his sire, Snowmass Starquest. An astute breeder will recognize his potency and investment. Rocky's EPD- Top 1% in 3 out of 6 categories SDAFD- Top 1% (.009) MC- Top 1% (.009) SDMC- Top 1% (.009) AFD- Top 2% (.018) SF- Top 2% (.013) %>30- Top 5% (.052)

Dam: Hummingherd's Laureate

Producing excellence time and again

Hummingherd's Laureate

HuacayaOpen (Female)White
AOA# 850942DOB: 9/11/200321 yrs
Laureate was one of our first purchases when we started in this great industry in 2006. She's certainly one of our older dams now, but is still producing absolutely superior offspring. Check out her 2014 cria Lyra. We would love to see Laureate go to a home where she will be well cared for, and perhaps be bred a couple more times to repeat her genetics. The one constant we have seen with Laureates offspring is density and fineness. Just what astute breeders are looking for.

Service Sire: Accoyo America Tronador

3rd yr-16.0-AFD 2.7-SD 16.6-CofV 0.2>30

Accoyo America Tronador

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)White
AOA# 31975230DOB: 5/28/201014 yrs
UNIFORMITY of character, fineness, and staple length! Amazing high frequency 3D crimp that carries well throughout his topknot, neck, blanket, legs, and tail. He has a wonderful long staple length complete with perfect individual small bundles from skin to tip and phenomenal density. His handle is supreme due to the uniformity of micron between primaries and secondaries. This Herdsire has little medulation which also contributes a superior handle. Superb brightness to his fleece! He "wows" me every time I see him and run my hands through his fleece. He has a perfect head, great coverage, and a perfect bite! Tronador's dam is the full sister to PCA Hemingway-Accoyo Nautilus and dam of Greg Mecklem's current herdsires: Accoyo America Synergy and ACCOYO AMERICA NORTH STAR AC020. Tronador's sire is Accoyo America Endeavor! An Accoyo El Nino son who has been stamping out superior cria. Endeavor is also the full brother to Accoyo America Denali, another fantastic herdsire in the Accoyo America stud row! Take a look at Tronador's Pedigree, there is not one animal in it who has not produced some of the most elite alpacas in the country. Lynn Eden's who now owns Tronador's dam and siblings said this on 8/23/13: "We just got Tronador's dam, Sequoia's, histogram results for this year -- at age 10 she is carrying a 20 micron fleece with a CV of 18.2% and just 1.5% over 30. Tron's older maternal brother North Star has a 19.8 micron fleece as a seven year old working male, and also maintaining outstanding consistency with just 1.8%>30. North Star is back east now, so Tron is carrying the west coast banner for Sequoia's amazing fleece genetics" Tronador's cria are hitting the ground and they are spectacular. He has been bred to a wide variety of dams with different phenotypes and all the cria are perfect little cookie cutter "Mini Trons". Oh, and if you are wondering about color, he is produced 4 solid colored crias when bred to 4 colored females so far. He has not produced a white or light from a colored female yet. He is letting the color pass while adding attributes from his elite white genetics. All his crias are showing early signs of elite fleeces. Born with bright, dense, very well stapled and crimpy, and exceptionally fine fiber on perfect little frames.

Description

Lyra is another female that was going to represent our next generation of alpacas. The decision to sell our herd was not an easy one. Lyra does represent the focus of our breeding program- low micron sustained with high curvature and consistency accross the fleece. Lyra's two year histogram was- AFD- 14.4, SD- 3.7, % over 30- 0.4, with a curve of 53.8. She is carrying this amazing DENSE fleece on a stout and well balanced frame. Lyra's sire is simply our best- Rocky. The dam side is Laureate- one of our first purchases that has produced multi-champion Amalaya, Ribbon winner Cinnarun (sold), among other outstanding offspring. Lyra should have been shown, but our timing last year did not allow us to travel with the alpacas. Consistent with our asking price for other two year old females, her price does not reflect our thoughts on her value or potential. We simply need to sell the herd. Gorgeous Tron son at side.
