He will remain here through the 2013 summer show season, but we've retained breedings to his boy, and he is one to put on your wish list. Capstone's latest accomplishment is one more validation that he has a bright future ahead of him. At 2012 AlpacaMania Capstone was awarded 1st over a field of impressive greys including males sired by Snowmass Silver Signature, Deacon Grey and Bisturi, including the male who swept IAO with Fleece and Halter championships, Spinners Dream Halter, and best Head. Capstone was then awarded Reserve Color Champion behind an awesome Aussie .38 Special son. Capstone possesses the same typey conformation, dense crimpy fleece, and gorgeous head we expected from this Bisturi breeding to our true black Bellatrix. He is Bella’s first cria, and Capstone confirms our expectations that Bellatrix will be an outstanding foundation dam. Capstone is a medium silver grey with only one tiny spot in his blanket. He is a striking boy. His dense, organized fleece is soft with a buttery handle, consistent crimp hip to shoulder, back to belly, & off the charts staple length. Bloodlines from Bisturi, Olympus, Drambuie, & Peruvian Knockout on the top side: Generations of black and grey are balanced with the strong Peruvian greats, Yupanqui, Guellermo, Presidio, and Caligula on the bottom side. Capstone’s dam, Bellatrix brings the mix of proven genetics from our Multi Champion producing Grace and Champion producing stud, Xanadu After Hours. The dams in Capstone's pedigree are proven producers as well. There are no weak links in his genetic package. Sequoia is very closely related to our reserve Champion female, Carmelina, and they look very much alike. Sequoia is one of the finest and densest females in our herd which was recognized by our shearer as having the greatest volume of fine fleeces of all his clients. It's as soft as warm butter too! Her fleece exhibits excellent fineness, handle, uniformity, density, brightness, crimp and a lack of guard hair. She has correct conformation, movement and a perfect bite. I know her pedigree very well (having owned or bred many alpacas listed on it) and Sequoia exhibits the best traits from her quality ancestors. Her colorful pedigree is deep in Alianza, Snowmass and top award-winning ancestors. Her sire is a blue ribbon winning maroon.
