Porter is a RARE, DARK, UNIFORM, Non-fading MAROON (color known to throw rose grey and TB!) with jet black muzzle and dark purple points...and he's passing it down to his progeny.
FLEECE: SO FINE & UNIFORM, 2 spiked histograms, low scale height, full coverage head to toe, lack of medullation, INSANE SOFTNESS & LUSTER (even his 4th fleece/breeding male), rare for such a dark color.
CRIMP: Med freq./med. amp extending across the staple at 3 yrs of age (hi freq. as cria/yearling). Crimp from topknot to toes.
CONFORMATION: HEAVY BONE, LARGE testicles, Short-wedged TB muzzle, straight/strong/pleasing legs, strong topline, great muscle tone, and excellent bite. 170 lbs. at last weigh in.

Soft, bright, fine, long-stapled black!!! Her 3rd fleece has retained a lovely handle. She has a med. freq/amp crimp style. Adorable face, compact conformation, square/solid frame, level topline, good bone structure, very healthy, heavy muscle tone, and perfect bite. She also has a very sweet personality and dotes on all the crias! She's the "Auntie" of the herd and was so happy when she delivered her first cria.
Her sire, NOVA'S NUANCE, is one of the finest black offspring (15 micron!) of an elite true black herdsire, SNOWMASS NOVA. His fiber stats at age 2 were 16.5, 2.9, 17.6, 0.6 and both of Nuance's parents have maintained their fineness over time.<--description-->
Description
Sequoia is very closely related to our reserve Champion female, Carmelina, and they look very much alike. Sequoia is one of the finest and densest females in our herd which was recognized by our shearer as having the greatest volume of fine fleeces of all his clients. It's as soft as warm butter too!
Her fleece exhibits excellent fineness, handle, uniformity, density, brightness, crimp and a lack of guard hair. She has correct conformation, movement and a perfect bite.
I know her pedigree very well (having owned or bred many alpacas listed on it) and Sequoia exhibits the best traits from her quality ancestors.
Her colorful pedigree is deep in Alianza, Snowmass and top award-winning ancestors. Her sire is a blue ribbon winning maroon. Her dam is a dense black sired by Snowmass Nova's Nuance (sire of our Reserve Champion, Carmelina).
