Longbow is eye-catching in his proud stance and uniform coloration. The reduction of spots on greys in the show ring has been remarkable with a solid blanket being more common, but Longbow still stands out for his extremely uniform rose grey color as his coat is an even 'roaning' heather without spots. With our champion Frosted Red Rose as his dam and Snowmass Enlightenment as his sire, you can see the strong resemblance! He also inherited his dam's fine, uniform fiber, and a high-frequency crimp from staple to tip all across his blanket. Both Rosie and Longbow have excellent consistency of ratio of micron between light and dark fibers for an markedly smooth handle. His high frequency crimp as well as his fineness are uniform across his blanket and extends from his hips to his shoulders -- another thing that he has gotten from his dam, so his prime fiber clip is extensive. Longbow is well conformed, with a solid frame and proud carriage, easy movement and strong bones, and good bite and nice head. His dark eyes are decorated with a mesmerizing 'bedroom eyes' eyeliner of dark fiber, with his wedge head, spear ears, and good coverage showing an attractive head without any of the wool-blind (wooly face) concerns. Even the fact that he unfortunately lost the very tip of his left ear to frostbite as a newborn still does not detract from his overall beautiful, classic face. Bow is proven, having bred on our farm and fellow farms in the area to produce several very nice crias. The crias have ranged from very nice (good show quality/excellent foundation) to 'Oh, amazing' in fleece qualities. At a marketing event, we sold two breedings on the spot after the farm saw and touched him. He has produced black crias from black dams, a dark rose grey from a DSG dam, a fawn-grey from a LRG dam, and a fawn from a DRG dam. Though he never really got to shine out in the ring, we knew that he had somethings special. When we pulled a sample from Bow's 2015 clip we were amazed with how much fineness, crimp, density, uniformity and staple as a mature stud. The judges agree since, in our pleased amazement, he secured Color Champion in grey at the 2016 GWAS fleece show! Bow never got the opportunities he deserved, and we lost him before he had the chance to go to another farm.

AutumnSun's Black Magic Girl

Sold! Congratulations to Jason and Corinne Cain of Aurora Australis Alpacas for their purchase of Maggie! Maggie is sired by the multiple champion Magic's Copperfield -- son of multiple champion Blues Magic and the remarkable Almost Paradise Farms Beatriz -- who is also the dam of several other multiple champion alpacas, including the incomparable Bea-2 Bomber. Maggie also bears grey lineage from her maternal side in her grandsire Legacy de Bolivia, who was one of the cornerstone studs of the grey breeding history that were brought into the U.S. specifically to develop grey color here. These are impressive genetics and Maggie shows them off well. Among the group of 'woolies' on our farm, this 'blue toned' TB girl has an eye-catching head style that visitors immediately notice. She also has great leg coverage and overall solidity of frame. She has a medium amplitude crimp with high frequency, a long staple, great shine and handle, and good density. Maggie's first pairing was chosen to be to our multiple champion Wolf Den's Dark Secret, she produced a true black girl that already has her parents fantastic coverage and good looks! AutumnSun's Fascination is well grown up and still looks just like her dam! Maggie was bred to our rose grey Longbow, who hails from a lineage of multiple generations of grey champions, for her 2015 cria. We had fingers crossed for a rose grey girl that is just as cute as her sister Fascination ('Cina' for short). Well, it was not a girl, or grey, but this boy is NICE, really nice! Maggie's boy by Longbow has it all: the looks, great confirmation, coverage, fiber fineness, crimp, shine and density. In fact, we are already planning on showing him and he may be a 'keeper' for our black stud row. We think Maggie's next breeding, in the spring, should be back to Bow. "When it isn't broken, don't fix it."
