SoCal's Curandero

SuriHerdsire (Male)Light Fawn
AOA# 31943482DOB: 3/20/201113 yrs
Curandero is so loaded with luster, he practically glows in the dark! He is a light fawn male with well-defined locking to the skin. The judge appreciate his "well-balanced" conformation and "solidity of lock"--also called "density". He has a striking presence with excellent bone and a level top line. His sire, Saber's Red Storm Rising, has taken several impressive championships, including a color championship at the AOBA National show, and Buckeye Champion and Judges' Choice. His dam, Anabellla's Chi, is one of our favorite foundation females. We are so proud of all his accomplishments, and now he is looking forward to a career as a herdsire! Curandero is a real winner--He took a blue ribbon at his first show (no championship class), then on to the International Alpaca Odyssey, where he had the HIGHEST score of ALL SURIS in the Cottage Fleece show AND he took Reserve Color Champion in the Cottage Halter competition. At his third show, the California Classic, he took 1st and Reserve Champion once again in full fleece halter--the judge loved his "balance" and elegant, angular conformation--not to mention his dense and lustrous fleece. At 2+ years, Curandero still cuts an elegant figure, with luster that glows in the barn! And he has settled his first female, and has her spitting! **Sellers would like to reserve 2 breedings to Curandero--drive buy or will cover agistment of female. We don't want to lose out on his genetics! Curandero has moved to Alpacas of Marin in coastal Marin County, in the North San Francisco Bay area of California. dHe has settled his first female and we await behavior testing on her. CURANDERO has been SOLD to Kelly and Anthony Fobia of Zen Gardens Alpacas! Congratulations, Kelly and Anthony--you have purchased a handsome, stylish, (sweet), and lustrous young man!

Dam: SoCal's Chan Chan

Blue Ribbon Winner 1st Time Out!

SoCal's Chan Chan

SuriOpen (Female)Light Brown
DOB: 10/11/201113 yrs
We are so proud of our girl, Chan Chan. She's a product of our breeding program and a winner her first time out in the show ring! She has well-defined light brown locks that are dripping with luster--she gets that luster from our herdsire,IAO Champion Captain Blackfoot--he's a Captain Morgan son and the whole family is known for their luster! Her dam is a lovely gal with an impressive lineage--Accoyo Rising Son, Gianni of PVA, Uribe, and Kobe in her background. Chan Chan has lots of color genetics. You can see in the photos that her conformation and bone are very solid. We think she'll be an excellent addition to your breeding program. Chan Chan was bred to our Champion light fawn male, SoCal Curandero (who has been purchased by Zen Garden Alpacas--congratulations, Kelly and Anthony!). She quietly had a trouble-free delivery of a female cria in July, 2015. We LOVE this criaa! Anta Sumac (it means "beautiful copper in Quechua, the native tongue of the Inca), is a bright, lustrous COPPER-colored female with luminous locks and correct conformation. This cria does not sell with Chan Chan, but she does come with a breeding, and it's a "no brainer" to go with Curandero's magnificent sire, Saber's Red Storm Rising. This guy has won numerous level 5 championships and Judge's choice awards. He is a bright copper brown with a long, elegant frame that will complement Chan Chan's sturdy conformation, and he has award-winning offspring of all colors. Chan Chan has made the move to Alpacas of Marin in the North San Francisco Bay area.

Service Sire: SoCal Greystone's Marko

TB Multi-Champ w/Grey Genetics!

SoCal Greystone's Marko

SuriHerdsire (Male)True Black
AOA# DOB: 11/17/201311 yrs
Our Marko is a real sleeper--he's absolutely gorgeous, and we think he has valuable depth of genotype AND phenotype. Marko has silky, well- demarcated pencilled black locks to the skin with gorgeous luster. He has a PERFECT head! The judges at the West Coast Alpaca show (Wade Gease and Winnie La Breque--THEY know a thing or 2 about suris,...) LOVED him and awarded him 2 halter championships, including the prestigious Champion Processing-Length Suri--for ALL shorn suris--male and female! He is calm and manageable, and has a sturdy, compact, correct and balanced frame. We LOVE this guy! Oooh...now here's a tantalizing "factoid". Marko's FULL Sister, Siriana, just had an appy/rose grey cria by Balboa of PVA, who is true black. Siriana is true black like her brother, but this means she is probably phenotypically black and GENOTYPICALLY appy/Modern Grey! We think Marko might carry the same genotype! And in his last 2 shows, Marko color-checked as "indeterminant dark""--basically black with a regular distribution of white fibers. Sure sounds a lot like a very dark grey.... With his potential for grey (from sire, Greystone), and black genetics going back to Sirius Black and Kobe, Greystone's Marko has it all. Cindy Harris of Alpacas at Windy Hill was transporting Marko to GWAS, and fell in love with him. We are now partners in Marko! We are honored that Cindy sees the same great potential in this male that we do. He spent the summer of 2016 at Alpacas at Windy Hill working on his resume. Marko has finished his sabbatical at Windy Hill, having produced 3 BLACK and 2 BROWN crias, with more to come next year! Marko can be found at Alpacas of Marin in the North San Francisco Bay area.

Description

"Anta Sumac" means "Beautiful Copper" in Quechua, the native tongue of the Incas. Our Anta Sumac looks like a freshly minted copper penny--and has just as much shine and luster as a coin. She's one of our favorite alpacas on the farm--halter trained by the 4H kids, she's interested in people and unafraid in new situations. She was a real hit at the Gold Country Gathering this year--everyone LOVED her cute personality. She let strangers pat her on the head and hummed back at them happily. I must confess, if Anta Sumac were a human, she would be a chain smoker: she always has a twig or piece of hay in her mouth to work on! Anta Sumac is growing up to have the elegant frame of her sire, multi champion Curandero. She also carries his luster and locking, and she is quite the "head-turner". The judge at the California Classic in 2017 admired her elegance, balanced frame, luster and locking. Anta Sumac sells with a breeding to any of our herdsires--we'd suggest Accoyo El Cedro, or perhaps one of our black multi-champions: Obsidian Marquis or AAOA Marauder or RGSA Coppola, or SoCal Greystone's Marko. This girl is ready to breed! Congratulations to Tommie Smith of Cloverdale CA, who has bought this exceptional young lady!
