High Plains Elvis

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Light Silver Grey
AOA# 30506749, CLAA# 33847DOB: 5/30/200618 yrs
A high quality grey male that we are proud to own. Correct conformation and bite, he is always standing proud. High frequency crimp with good density, staple length and fineness. Elvis is maintaining his fineness at the age of 6 he is still 24 micron. His EPD results are also good, AFD -0.758, %F>30 -3.711 MC 1.195 and MSL 1.298. Elvis will add fineness, reduce the fibres over 30 and add both crimp and staple length.

To date Elvis has 19 cria on the ground, 14 females and 5 males. In 2012 Elvis produced 3 silver grey crias from a black, a dark brown and a medium silver grey dam. 2013 had Elvis sire 2 silver grey males, 2 fawn females, 1 white female. His bloodlines consist of Peruvian Hemingway, Peruvian Snowtex and PPeruvian Javier. Elvis is a very laid back alpaca, he never starts a scuffle but will stand up for himself. He is often outdoors regardless of the weather and his male crias are following his example, they are very hardy males. Elvis won 1st place with a score of 92/100 at Alpaca Ontario Mary-Ann English Spin-off Competition 2012, the spinner commented on how very evenly coloured his fleece is. Elvis won 1st Place and Highest Score in Colour Champion with a score of 98/100 at Alpaca Ontario Mary-Ann English Spin-off Competition 2013. The judge commented "very uniform, very soft - no guard hair, hand will feel even better when washed, beautiful to work with" In 2012 Elvis was entered in two Stud Raffles and both breedings were purchased We wish that more farms would show their older males as we think they deserve the recognition for keeping such fine fibre and stats as they age. We would love to show Elvis again. Congratulation to Erilyn Alpacas on purchasing my favourite grey!

Criator of greys!

Kameyosek Ben

HuacayaBred (Female)Dark Brown
AOA# 31403320, CLAA# 38976DOB: 6/18/200915 yrs
Kameyosek is pregnant for July 2025. We were so pleased with their 2023 cria, that we rebred Kameyosek and Jupiter . Kameyosek would be a great addition for any herd, but especially one breeding for grey. When bred to grey Kameyosek has produced grey 6 out of 9 times, and 6 out of 9 times she has produced females. Making her our second top grey producing female, both her parents were true blacks. Jupiter has sired 10 greys, 3 browns, 2 medium fawns, and 8 of those have been female. We can't wait to see what they criated for 2025. Her first two crias were both sired by High Plains Elvis, a beautiful rose grey female Sweet Pea, followed a year later by silver grey Khan. Sweet Pea took 4th place at the 2013 Alpaca Ontario Spring Show. Khan placed 4th at the 2014 Alpaca Ontario Spring Show. Her third cria is a dark brown female, Kabuki. Kit Kat, her fourth cria is stunning, white boots, white face, dark, dark grey body and blue eyes! Kit Kat was sired by RRA Granite's Lancelot. All 7 of Kit Kat's crias are grey also. 2016 Kameyosek produced a beautiful bay black female - Kindness, sired by Valiant. Stunning, Kameyosek's 2017 cria - Kameron the Grey is stunning. Lots of wonderful light grey fibre. Kameron sired 15 crias for our herd, 8 greys, 4 browns and 3 fawns. Surprise, bred to our silver grey male Mars and Beyond they produced a black female, Kameo who has super, super fine fibre. 2019's cria was another gorgeous grey male, Kamelot sired by Prince. His cria fleece was over 6 inches of very fine Grade 1 fibre. Her 2023 cria is a dark steel grey female, Kammie, with a dark circle around her right eye. She too has wonderful fibre. Kammie has been weaned and is doing great with her friend Special's Delight. Kameyosek is a very easy birther; her first cria there was no sign of labour when I left the barn, when I came back in less than an hour her cria was there. Kameyosek is a good mother with lots of milk, all of her crias have doubled their birth weight within one month. Kameyosek means Beautiful One in Cree. Her great grandsire is the well known Acero Marka's Sky Pilot, one of Canada's most respected herd sires and sire of numerous champions. Her great grandsire Cpt. Nemo's last fibre stats at 10 years of age were: CV 22.0, SD 4.4, CV 19.2, %>30 6.2. Typically Nemo's offspring are visually pleasing with medium size square stocky build, excellent overall coverage head to toe, finer type crimp, soft fibre and friendly personality and that pretty much sums up Kameyosek. .

Description

Sweat Pea's latest cria is wonderful! Lancelot's Legacy is beautiful rose grey on the outside but lots of silver grey underneath, much like his mom. Sweet Pea looks like a rose grey but underneath she is a silver grey. She has the most wonderful facial markings, dark around the eyes; the dark around her mouth makes it appear as if she is smiling. Sweet Pea has tiny blue heart shapes at the bottom of her eyes. Sweet Pea was quite the little fibre monster! At 8 months old her fibre was over 5" long. Her fibre has medium crimp and is very fine. Her second and third year fibre were just as fine. Sweet Pea is very easy going, she won't push her way in for pellets. We have taken her out to markets and she is always very curious as to what is going on there. We bred her to our dark silver grey, Lance for an Aug. 2016 cria, they produced a crimpy light fawn female - Sweetness. We were so pleased with the outcome that we rebred this couple for a July 2017 cria. We loved this pair - Lancelot's Legacy is a stunning silver grey with rose grey spots. This year's cria is a brown male, sired by our silver grey herdsire - Prince. For more information on the scarf made from Sweet Pea's fibre visit Laslyn Alpaca - Sweet Pea's Scarf.
