Ava is a beautiful black alpaca with a strong pedigree. She looks so much like her handsome sire. Ava delivered her first cria in 2009, and has proven to be a good producer and an excellent mother. Ava's fleece has a soft bold crimp style and is very 'bright' with an exceptionally soft handle - especially for a BLACK. UPDATE: Her super-nice SILVER GREY male is now a Blue Ribbon winner! Dense, long staple, FINE, and with a high frequency crimp! He's 'spotless', too. And GORGEOUs! His sire, MachuPichu has been SOLD to Canada! This outstanding grey male leaves behind about a dozen offspring in the US. Don't miss the chance to own one. *Choose the sire of Ava's next cria! Fleece: Alpacas with true 'blue BLACK' fleeces - with NO fibers of other colors in the fleece and that do not fade - are RARE. A black with fiber this nice is a real find! A combination of fineness, uniformity of micron, and smooth low scale fibers without corase guard hairs all adds up to a fleece on this girl that has a luxurious feel. How often do you find that in BLACK?! Pedigree: Her sire, MA Peruvian Tomba, is likely the best son of the legendary "El Negro" - PPPeruvian Inca - the first true BLACK male imported from the Alianza. Inca was given the highest possible rating in the '95 Peruvian importion. Tomba's dam, 4Peruvian Black Satin, came to the US in 1996 at 1 1/2 years of age with a micron count of 21.2. She was also a true BLACK. Ava's dam is from Skyeview Alpacas. Jim & Sue King have been successfully breeding and showing alpacas since 1992. According to the importation records, Ava's maternal granddam, CPeruvian Alexis 2212 IMPF98, came from the Antacalla herd of the Rural Alianza co-op. The Rural Alianza has long bred their alpacas to a standard of fineness to meet the requirements of the textile industry in Peru. At the time of importation her fiber test results were: AFD-21.2 SD-4.3 CoV-20.3 %>30-4.1 Ava is a good choice for anyone who wants to breed high quality fiber in color - especially in rich, true BLACK or GREY.

Machu Pichu - SOLD! Congratulations to Dough & Carolyn Lilleyman of Kickn' Back Alpacas near Ontario Canada! Beautiful tuxedo/classic grey MachuPichu crias for sale! Don't miss your chance to own one of ONLY about a dozen MachuPichu crias in the US. Contact us for details! - female Looking for lasting fineness in grey? Check out MachuPichu's histograms - at 2 years, FIVE years, and SIX years of age!!! How often do you see alpacas of ANY color with fiber stats like this - much less grey?! We are happy to email you copies of Machu Pichu's 2010 and 2011 histograms. At six years of age, MachuPichu's fleece is maintaining brightness, high curvature/crimp, and a degree of DENSITY not often seen with fleece this fine. Plus he is maintaining an exceptional staple length! And Machu Pichu is gorgeous and oh, so typey. Not to mention 'presence'; he KNOWS he is special. The genetic potential of this handsome grey male fascinates us. MachuPichu is a huacaya from two suris, with a soft, bright, but distinctly crimpy huacaya fleece. A number of top huacayas, including 6 TIME Champion Lazy's Phoenix, 9 TIME Champion AL Pacas Simba, and Kelly Zanella's Spa Alpaca's Mazet (2nd at the Futurity!), have suri heritage. Some breeders seek out huacayas from suris for their breeding programs. Here is your chance to breed to an especially good one - in gorgeous grey!

Description

A proven producer of Award Winning Grey! Ellie is a lovely young female that should have had her chance in the show ring. She has beautiful conformation and lovely fiber. Whether you want to produce quality fiber, show alpacas, or breeding stock - remember, quality pays! Service Sire: See her stunningly handsome ROSE GREY son sired by MachuPichu - shown at right as a cira, Secret of the Incas is now 2 yrs old and ready to breed. He is holding his fineness & crimp - and ought to be SHOWN! Fleece: This lovely young female has fine, crimpy fiber. It has the wonderful 'handle' that Nova, 'El Negro', and Sabra give their offspring. Histograms available upon request. Pedigree: Sire - Great Rock Ellington is a Blue Ribbon winner at the North American and the MAPACA Jubilee - two of the most competitive shows in the country. Bred and owned by Jack & Kate Lathrop of Great Rock Alpacas in Mass. Ellington is a son of Snowmass Nova, one of the best blacks EVER. Ellington's dam is a daughter of 4Peruvian Legacy. This heritage gave Ellington a dense, fine, CRIMPY fleece, that he passed onto Ellie. Dam - our own Green Vale Ava, one of the 'blue-black' non-fadding, non-tipping black females here that have fleeces that feel like black satin. She is a granddaughter of the incredible PPPeruvian Inca, better known as 'El Negro' - the famous black sire imported from the Alianza of Peru at age 2 years with a 22.1 micron. Ava's dam is our CVA Shelby, a beautiful black female who has kept her true jet-black non-fading color and a silk-like handle to her shiney bright fleece. See Shelby's listing on our sales list here for more information. The generations of quality behind Ellie are easy to miss, since many of these animals have not been 'hyped' for a few years - but the genetic potential to produce excellence is THERE. We have not had the time to get Ellie, and some of the other show-worthy youngsters, out in the ring. Whether you want to show or just want to breed for high-quality fiber in a range of colors - brown, black, grey - Ellie may be just what you need.
