Production Queen
BlueGenes' Abracadabra
Alpaca, Huacaya, Open (Female) | True Black
AOA #1078855 | DOB: 11/16/2005 (19 yrs)
Sire: AABC NAVIGATOR
1078855<--ari-->Medium Silver Grey<--color-->97% of ALL registered offspring of this MULTIPLE COLOR CHAMPION are GREY or BLACK when bred to one of those colors
87% of ALL his registered offspring are
GREY or BLACK when bred to any color!
We would be interested to know if there is another sire who can match Navigator's color production statistics based on ARI records.
Navigator first caught our eye, and of many other breeders, at the 2002 All American Alpaca Futurity. This third generation gray and grandson of Macusani has outstanding conformation, full coverage throughout, a wonderful presence and disposition and the finest, densest fleece we've ever seen on a gray. Apparently, all the judges think so too. We are very proud that his first offspring on our farm, PH Navigator's Commander, earned 8 Blue Ribbons along with 5 Championship Banners. And, Navigator's other offspring are following in their sire's and big brother's foot steps.

Dam: Ameripaca's Jonquil
1078855<--ari-->Medium Silver Gray<--color-->Fleece to die for - winning 1st place every time it was entered in competitive fleece shows!
But that's no surprise given that she's a Prairie Legend daughter. Her histogram is text book for what to look for in a fleece (CF: 97.8%). She has a wonderfully soft handle, great coverage and consistent color. With only one black spot on her blanket it might have been a clue to the color of her first cria with Navigator, Abracadabra. Jonquil has been an excellent first-time mom and seems to have passed her fleece characteristics to Abby.

Description
Abracadabra, our true black female out of AABC Navigator and our own Ameripaca's Jonquil (Inca Legend line), delivered her first cria on the exact day she was due!
Her silver gray female x Brinx, BlueGenes' Licketty Split, was sold to Alpaca Annuals in Colorado. In her juvie show carrier, she received a series of first and second place ribbons to grays who went on to win championships. Abby's second offspring with Brinx, Gypsy, has the same fabulous fleece characteristics and her third cria, again with Brinx, is a modern rose gray who shows the same fleece characteristics - density, fineness and tight crimp architecture.
Abby's offspring are consistent in the quality of their fiber, their conformation and coverage.
Strong, proven blood lines producing show winning offspring with outstanding fleece, is what we all want from a foundation female.
