Alpaca, Huacaya, Jr. Herdsire (Male) | White, Medium Brown

AOA #31616348 | DOB: 3/7/2009 (15 yrs)

Sire:

Azizi's Avilon

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Rose Grey
AOA# 1437362DOB: 9/16/200420 yrs
Recently Deceased. 7 Blue Ribbons to his name! He had produced numerous true black and rose grey offspring and we look forward to seeing them hit the show ring. Avilon is a powerhouse of grey genetics. His Grandsire on his maternal side is Lanark’s Silver Charm who has produced a number of offspring that have won Championship ribbons. He himself has many blue ribbons to his credit! His Sire is Avatar whose offspring garnered 3 Championships at AOBA 2005! Incredibly beautiful male who is producing grey, rose grey, and deep chocolate brown – all with super wooly heads which require frequent shearing in order for the animal to see. He has been wining all blue ribbons in 2008 except for the Kentucky Classic where grey and rose grey males were shown together and he was bested by our herd sire Aragorn. Not a bad predicament for Fireweed Farm – have the two top grey males at the show! . See his Power Point or our website for more show results.

Dam: Marlo

Marlo

HuacayaBred (Female)Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 844604DOB: 12/17/200222 yrs
Great color genetic background for producing Rose Grey! She has produced light silver grey and medium rose grey w/o any blanket spotting. Easy birthing dam, great mother. All of her offspring have exceptionally fine fleece. Marlo continues her “lingering fineness” for grey into her 7th year. Marlo has some of the most classic grey and black herd sires in her pedigree also including Ignacio, a fine true black imported herd sire from Chile. Those herd sires also include: Amanda Vandenbosch’s Palladin with incredible steel blue grey fleece, and Wiley Coyote who was the first rose grey alpaca I ever set eyes on in 1992. From the moment I saw that magnificent male, I was smitten by the color rose grey! Marlo’s sire; Bogner Regis of the shire: A handsome son of Palladin. His dense, soft gray fleece has a wonderful handle and his attitude and conformation are exceptional. His mostly female offspring have accumulated over 40 ribbons in the show ring and there are many more to come. He makes gray or black when bred to same and you can count on the density. Palladin, Marlo’s Grand sire is a black or grey breeder’s paradise. This steel gray colored stud has herd sire charisma, superior conformation and strong bone. His extremely uniform gray fleece is very dense with excellent crimp and handle. FDA Paladin is a blue ribbon winner in halter classes and fleece competition. His offspring have garnered many awards in blacks and greys. All of these herd sires round out her impressive grey producing pedigree

Description

White wooly head and face are a great contrast to his medium brown body. We were hoping for rose grey with this breeding and his Dams’ history – but were pleased with this striking male. Great conformation and coverage. Avilon has produced some stunning offspring – most with his wonderful trademark wooly head – normally found in lighter fleeced alpacas. Marlo has proven herself with producing grey and rose grey offspring with ultra fine fleece. Marlo continues to show lingering fineness.
