We purchased Bittersweet from Chase Tavern Farms in 2004 as one of our foundation females. She has not disappointed us. Bittersweet is the dam of our Reserve Color Champion, Painted Sky Inuksuk, and our award winning Licorice. Her fleece has a soft handle and a high frequency crimp style. She has very correct conformation, bite, and has great bone. She is one of our most inquisitive alpacas, has a very gentle demeanor, is easy to work with, and loves to have her afternoon romp with the crias. We now want to make her available to improve someone else's herd. She is a super dam! She produces a lot of milk, and is very watchful of her cria. She is a terrific color producer, and has produced two tue black females and a lovely rose gray male. All ribbons winers. Licorice is a beautiful daughter by the incomperable Lanark's Silver Charm. She is out of Bittersweet Chocolate, our award winning and champion-producing female. Licorice has an exquisite fleece that has beautiful architecture, crimp, and uniformity. She is a stylish female, with correct conformation, a perfect bite, good bone, and a beautiful head. Licorice is easy to handle and a joy to show. She is the sweetest girl on our ranch. If you are breeding for black or grey, this is your girl! Licorice's 2010 Cria, Smoke and Mirrors is just incredible! He has a lovely, fine, dense fleece with Apres signature long staple length. He placesd extemely well in every show: 2nd at The Futurity, 4th at GWAS, and 4th at the AOBA National Show, 1st at 2013 AB Fall Fest. Her 2013 cria Incendiary has been is a stunning rose gray male who placed 2nd at GWAS. I love this pairing so much that we rebred Licorice to Apres for a fall 2014 cria.
