MacDhui's ARI certificate reads like a veritable "Who's Who" of the nation's top grey alpacas! His sire, Request the Best, is one of the most spectacular grey herdsires to be found anywhere, a multiple blue ribbon winner who placed first at the AOBA Nationals for three successive years. Dhui's grandsire on his father's side is the great medium rose grey, Cisco Kid, who is also sire to the famous General Schwarzkopf. From his black dam, MacDhui has inherited perfect conformation and a grey and black pedigree going back four generations, including SA Silverado and The Silversmith. Quite apart from his star-studded pedigree, Ben MacDhui is well known on the show circuit as a top quality grey herdsire in his own right. At MaPaca 2002, Mike Safley pronounced him "the densest alpaca in the class" and at the 2002 Virginia Classic Dr. Anthony Stachowski remarked on his "exquisite head" and "exemplary density". Other judges comments include "wonderful fleece", "very typey conformation" and "stylish". MacDhui is a real head-turner, with a wonderful temperament, excellent coverage, conformation and fiber. His first son, the half-Peruvian rose grey Kinross, sold as a future herdsire at only 4 months of age and won a blue ribbon in his first show. His first daughter, Shannon of Cairngorm, placed second in the "Bred and owned female" class at the 2005 Virginia Classic and sold within a week of being offered for sale. His second daughter, Eilwen, sold before she was weaned and without ever being listed for sale and placed third in halter at the 2006 Virginia Classic. His medium silver grey son, Skye, sold as a herdsire prospect and won a blue ribbon in yearling halter at the Level V Buckeye Show in 2006. Elin, his beautiful half-Peruvian dark brown daughter, won a blue ribbon at MAPACA in 2007!

Description

Blush is the full Peruvian maroon daughter of two maroon parents. This multiple blue ribbon-winning, proven, female may be offered for sale because her award-winning maroon daughter, Brigit will remain in our foundation herd. Blush's sire, King Crimson, is a Champion full Peruvian maroon son of 5Peruvian Camelot and CPeruvian Dahna, both true maroon Peruvian imports. King has won numerous halter and fleece awards at regional and national level, including Best Hand, Best Luster and Best Brightness awards for his magnificent fiber. Blush's dam, Peruvian Daphne, is the rare true maroon daughter of two 6Peruvian imports and an excellent foundation female who possesses top quality, crimpy, fine fiber and strong, square conformation. Blush's solid maroon genetics, combined with her Peruvian heritage, are very rare and desirable characteristics. In Fall 2006, Blush produced an award-winning maroon female, Brigit, from her breeding with the Champion silver grey Legend's Challenger of KPR. In Fall 2007, Blush produced a full Peruvian fawn and white son, Cedrych, from her breeding with our multiple ribbon-winning, white Peruvian Presidio son, who has possibly the best fiber of any cria born to our farm. He is now sold, after winning a second place in full fleece halter at the Level IV 2008 VAOBA show and his fleece will be shown in 2009. Blush's 2008 cria, Meriadoc, is a full borther to Cedrych, who we expect to show in Fall 2009. Blush was bred with our Champion silver grey male, Ben MacDhui, for her Fall 2009 cria, in the hope of producing a rose grey, silver grey or maroon offspring.
