UPDATE: Breeding - Now being offered For Sale! You won't believe your senses when you touch this fiber! The Hemingway line is known for producing lovely soft fiber with excellent hand and fineness. So, when we bred Bethany to Andean Dream we were hoping for a cria that would carry on that tradition of fineness...and Andiamo doesn't disappoint! His bright, pure white fiber melts in your hand. Wow! He has a handsome head, straight conformation, and, of course, that fine, bright, crimpy fiber. Two samplings of his 2005 cria fleece verified that he produced an ultrafine, fabulously soft, fleece. Take a look at his 2005 histograms...AFD = 14.7 on the first sample and 14.4 AFD on the second! The 2007 histogram from his 3rd shearing still shows a fine fleece at 18.5 microns. Not surprisingly, we had planned to retain partial ownership of Andiamo to use these incredible soft, fine fiber genes in our breeding program. However, we think this nice male has something to offer to a larger population than we can provide. Therefore, we have decided to offer him for sale at a price even a small farm will find attractive! If you are interested in a breeding program to produce ultra fine fiber, call us today to discuss taking this guy home as a gift to your girls. SOLD

2009 Update: Beautiful dark brown female cria, Avalon's Jamaica Rose, by Our Black Jag Avalon's Amber Rose was selected by Judge Charlene Friedman as the 2006 AOBA NATIONAL SHOW BROWN FEMALE COLOR CHAMPION, making Amber a 7X Color Champion! Judge Friedman said of Amber, "Excellent proportion & substance...the finest in the class. She commanded my attention. It was hard to take my eyes off her!" Wow...that says it all! Amber Rose is the daughter of our fabulous grey foundation female, Sugar Rose and our premier fawn herdsire, AFA Royal Peruvian Aristocrat. Years ago we sold a female cria from this match to Sleeping Monk Farm in New Hampshire. When that female, Avalon's Laurel Rose, went on to win multiple blue ribbons at shows in the East, we promised ourselves that we would repeat that special match in the hope of getting a female just like "Rosie" that we could keep to take her dam's place in our herd. We finally did, and Amber is the result! Amber's bright dark brown, almost bay black, fiber has crimp from skin to tip. Her conformation is excellent. This is the real deal...a total package. We have enjoyed taking her to shows where we could show her off. She's definitely an attention getter and is proving now to be one of our most valuable foundation females...just like her dam!
