HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Light Fawn
AOA# 183445DOB: 1/24/1997
This outstanding son of (Accoyo) Royal Fawn, the world's highest selling alpaca at $600,000, is admired by everyone who has come to know him. His macho presence, handsome head, large bone, excellent fiber coverage, and lovely fleece have been a trademark combination that has been hard to beat. From his birth here at Avalon Farm, we knew he was special! In 1997, at his first show (and ours!), everyone that opened his fleece, including the judge, could only catch their breath and exclaim, "WOW!" His bright, crimpy, light fawn fleece was arranged in little locks that were unlike anything people had seen before. And, in 1999, when he won 1st as AOBA Fawn 2 Year Old Adult (no Color Championships in 1999), no one in the crowd watching was surprised. Since then he has sired over 40 crias for us and our customers. His offspring consistently do well in the showring. Many of his offspring have won, and continue to win, blue ribbons and color championships!!! His colorful sons and daughters are characterized by excellent fiber coverage, fineness, density, and crimp on typey frames...qualities that are their sire's trademark. It is this ability to create excellent offspring, together with a pedigree that is known and respected, that have made this handsome male a truly exceptional herdsire! Some alpacas from Aristocrat's line are available for viewing at Avalon Farm. Ask about Avalon Farm's Special Program of DISCOUNTED "CUSTOMER" AND "PRIORITY" STUD FEES!. Our breeding contract includes: 60 DAYS FREE BOARD for dam and the cria by her side AND a 30 DAY LIVE CRIA GUARANTEE. "Drive-By" and Mobile breedings may be possible by special arrangement...call or email.

RETIRED-CHAMPION PRODUCER!

Sugar Rose

HuacayaBred (Female)Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 81574DOB: 10/22/1990
........... RETIRED-REFERENCE ONLY........... Sugar Rose is a lovely foundation female who has proven herself again and again as a wonderful and attentive mom with ample milk and straight, well-conformed crias. Sweet Silver Jubilee, her 1997 daughter, has won blue ribbons for her lovely silver grey fiber. Her 2001 cria, Avalon's Laurel Rose is a beautiful, dark brown multiple blue ribbon winner. She attracts attention and wins hearts at every show!!! "Rosie" is a favorite of her current owner, Sue Evon, of Sleeping Monk Farm in New Hampshire. Although Sugar Rose is an older dam, she continues to produce outstanding, problem free crias! Her 2002 cria was a striking bay black/dark brown female (DOB: 10-11-02) that loved to lead the other crias as they stolted around the pasture. This nice female has gone on to produce a female cria of her own, Avalon's Sophia, who is now a Black Female Color Champion and multiple blue ribbon winner at 8 months old! The Sugar Rose/Aristocrat pairing has been particularly successful in producing outstanding offspring, and for this reason we repeated this match in 2004. In July 2004, Sugar Rose gave us another gorgeous daughter by our AFA Royal Peruvian Aristocrat. This beautiful girl, Avalon's Amber Rose, weighed in at a whopping 23 pounds and immediately exhibited gorgeous brown fleece with brightness, crimp, and soft hand. We have been thrilled to watch this sweetheart develop. Amber is now a 7 X Color Champion, including Brown Female Color Champion at the AOBA National Show, and multiple blue ribbon winner! On November 26th, 2005, Sugar Rose delivered another lovely daugter...this time in BLACK! The cria's sire is multiple color champion Peruvian Lancaster. We gave Sugar Rose some time off over the winter and bred her back to Aristocrat summer 2006. We are delighted with her proud medium brown 2007 son, Avalon's Flash Fire, destined to be a show ring.

Description

While there seems to be some difference of opinion among judges as to which color category Flash Fire's fiber fits...Dark Rose Grey or Indefinite Dark...there is no question that this strikingly handsome young male is the total package! His great style, conformation, crimpy fine fiber, density, and handsome head are qualities that catch the attention of viewers. The consistency of his fleece gives his fiber a soft hand than is delightful to the touch. Judge Diana Timmerman made him her First Place Rose Grey Juvenile at both the 2008 Minnesota Alpaca Expo and the 2008 Great MidWest Alpaca Fest and then selected him as her Grey Male Color Champion at the GMAF. She commented on his strong growth, style, presence, and fine, dense, crimpy fiber at both shows. Flash Fire's full sister, Avalon's Amber Rose was a 7 time Color Champion and the 2006 AOBA National Show Brown Female Color Champion. The pairing of Aristocrat and our "Grand Dam", Sugar Rose has once again produced a truly eye catching offspring. As he has grown, Flash Fire has continued to demonstrate the great presence; calm, proud manner; well grown frame; and FINE, CRIMPY FIBER we expect from future herdsires. He may well be the young male that you have been seeking to be the heart of your breeding program! If you are looking for a dark herdsire prospect, you will want to consider Flash Fire. We have him priced to sell as he is ready to start breeding. Until he sells, we plan to use him here at Avalon Farm as part of our breeding program. He is currently being offered at a special 2009 Introductory Fee rate of $800 (see Herdsire listing). (Flash Fire will be one of the last offspring to come from this special matching of Aristocrat and Sugar Rose. They have produced several exceptional crias, but we are reluctantly placing Sugar Rose into retirement due to her age. We will miss her in our breeding program!)
