Avalon's Evening Sonata

HuacayaBred (Female)True Black
AOA# 832566DOB: 10/27/200123 yrs
Sonata is a gorgeous daughter of a true black mom and a blue ribbon winning, 3/4 Peruvian, medium rose grey dad, Avalon's Durango. Sonata is alert, with proud carriage, curiosity, and a good growth history. Her conformation is exceptionally good with heavy bone. She has a beautiful head. Her fiber is lustrous and crimpy! She is covered with fiber from her nose to her toes. On July 18th Sonata delivered a black female cria by SA Peruvian Black Epic of Hobby Horse Farm! The delivery was textbook. She has proven to be an attentive mom and has provided ample milk for her dauthter, Avalon's Evening Rhapsody. UPDATE: Sonata's daughter, Rhapsody, was awarded 1st Place in the True Black Female Juvenile Class at the 2005 Wisconsin Spring Fling. Judge Kristin Buhrmann also selected Rhapsody as the Black Female Reserve Color Champion. She is a wonderful young lady that Judge Buhrmann described as, "the Total Package---great head, strong bone, correct typey frame, excellent coverage, consistent fiber character from front to back---everything you could want from a foundation female". She is a true testament to what her dam can produce! We are thrilled with Rhapsody and have taken Sonata back to Epic for rebreeding. Look for another outstanding Sonata/Epic cria in 2005!

Service Sire: Our Peruvian Black Jag

True Black Champion

Our Peruvian Black Jag

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)True Black
AOA# 30340879DOB: 8/20/200519 yrs
True black from two true black parents, Jag carries color genetics deep with black and grey. In addition to the rich black color, his fiber has wonderful hand and architecture...a fabulous combination! We purchased Jag to be the perfect complement to daughters coming from our three champion colored herdsires, Snowmass King Crimson, Lace's Peruvian Black Lance, and Avalon's Peruvian Granger. We've already seen the outstanding daughters coming from Crimson and Lance, so we knew we had to find a male worthy of them. We believe Jag is the answer. Unfortunately, Jag was not shown as a juvenile. Tucked away in a back pasture of a large farm, Jag went unnoticed. Well, that has changed! Since we purchased Jag, we have been eager to get him into the showring. He "came home" in early March 2007 and, as a yearling, had his first experience with a halter and lead. Only days later he was in his first show. Jag gained confidence and it has shown in the ring. He glides and prances as he enters the ring, capturing the judges' attention. NOTE! Jag came into his own at the Great Midwest Alpaca Festival where he was chosen as the 1st Place True Black Yearling Male. Judge Jude Anderson then selected him as the Black Color Champion, noting that his fleece was the "finest with good crimp, and lock, even from skin to tip, well covered, conformationally sound with great style"! If you are looking to find a top quality, true black male to breed to your girls, this is definitely a male you'll want to check out. Visit us and see for yourself. Ask about Avalon Farm's Special Program of DISCOUNTED "CUSTOMER" AND "PRIORITY" STUD FEES!. Our breeding contract includes: 60 DAYS FREE BOARD for dam and the cria by her side AND a 30 DAY LIVE CRIA GUARANTEE. "Drive-By" and Mobile breedings may be arranged. Call us

Description

This beautiful young lady is a real eye catcher. She is covered with fiber from nose to toes on a strong, well conformed frame with big bone. Her lovely fiber has a bold style crimp and long staple length. We are delighted with her. Judge Kristin Buhrmann, at the 2005 Wisconsin Spring Fling, placed her first in her True Black Class and selected her as the Black Reserve Color Champion. In her comments, Judge Buhrmann described Rhapsody as: "the Total Package---great head, strong bone, correct typey frame, excellent coverage, consistent fiber character from front to back---everything you could want from a foundation female". This pretty girl is getting better and better. On October 2, 2006, Rhapsody gave birth to her 1st cria, a handsome TRUE BLACK male, Avalon's Black Jack. We were so pleased with Black Jack that we rebred Rhapsody to Black Lance, our blue ribbon winning, ultra-fine fibered, black male, for another great cria in October, 2008. Unfortunately, we lost her 2008 cria, but are rebreeding Rhapsody this year to our other Black Champion, Our Peruvian Black Jag, for a 2008 cria. Like Rhapsody, Jag has a pedigree full of black and grey. We look forward to seeing the outcome of this exciting match. EVERY FEMALE purchased from Avalon Farm is eligible for reduced price breedings to any solely owned AFA herdsire FOR HER BREEDING LIFE, regardless of owner.
