We have always felt that Snowmass Legacy Gold is one of the most fantastic herdsires we have ever seen. When Tom and Judy Kania agreed to purchase this beautiful Legacy Gold Daughter with us...it was a "no brainer" and we are pleased to co-own her with them. One glance at the micron counts of her crias will tell you what sold us: Son, Royal Accent 1st yr 15.4, 2.8, 18.2, 0.6. 2nd yr 17.9, 3.4, 19.1, 0.8. CURV 55.3 (can you say VICUNA). Daughter, Royal Asset 14.0, 3.7, 26.3, 0.5 CURV 55.4! Her sire Legacy Gold holds the distinction of being the genetic improvement upon his sire, 4Peruvian Legacy, that enabled Snowmass to sell Legacy in the Spring of 2000. LG has won major awards at every level and at every stage of his development including back to back Breed and Color Championships at the 1999 & 2000 Futurity. A proven Herdsire whose cria have likewise excelled on the show circuit (Invincible, Arc Angel to name just two). He truly took our breath away when we saw him...the most show-stopping male we've ever seen. Her dam remains one of the finest and densest production dams in Snowmass' world famous herd. At 6 years old she keeps an AFD of 17.9. No matter whom Velvet Accent has bred to, the fineness and consistency of color and fleece is remarkably ROYAL. Her previous son was exported to Peru's top elite herd with the specific task of helping them bring back the vicuna fineness and characteristics that have been lost due to focus on volume. She is vicuna in her quality of fleece but even better as she adds staple length, brightness, and lack of medulation. She is the epitome of ROYAL ALPACA. Velvet gave us a fantastic son from Snowmass Royal Rose who has already won 4 banners and is breeding! She had an ultrafine brown boy from Snowmass Royal Flush! Bred to Snowmass Porteus, she gave us a fawn girl who looks to be one of Porteus' best yet and one of her best as well! Well she did it again, Velvet gave us a black beauty from Bright Horizon. We could never part with her with these fabulous genetics that she has given us.

His crias are here and winning big in the ring with many Championships and ribbons. We could not be happier or more excited about them. Both our own, those of our clients and our co-owner Snowmass Alpacas. If you had to describe them in one word...well you couldn't. But you can say that they are very true to type in head and body style. Supremely fine and shiny. Ultra bright and very dense. I know we tend to over use all those descriptors, but we invite you to take a look at his colorful crias and see for yourself. So far he seems to be throwing the color of the dam and adding tremendous fleece density, bone size, fleece coverage, brightness, and of course fineness. Julie Skinner at Snowmass tells us that her Madness cria was simply dripping with fleece from birth and was incredibly bright and fine. She said he was the quality that she would have expected from her top white herdsires! When you see Madness in person, you are blown away by his good looks, bone, body, and coverage. But he's more than just good looks on the outside. One prominent AOBA judge asked us for Madness' age and exclaimed "Holy *&@%" when we told him. He told us that he was finer in handle than most juveniles. We're in awe every time we part his fleece. He is incredibly consistent, (see the judges comments in the awards section). We are so grateful and appreciative that every judge we have shown him under has awarded him a Color Championship and have raved about his tremendous consistency. He is incredibly dense and fine and carries his wonderful fleece quality all throughout his body, down his legs, and up his neck to his topknot. The judges comments on him have been extremely flattering. We are very excited to have a partnership in this fabulous herdsire with Don and Julie Skinner at Snowmass Alpacas. We were so devastated when we lost our wonderful herdsire Snowmass Porteus and so grateful that they invited us to co-own the male that they themselves kept in order to replace Porteus on their own ranch as well as to continue on Matrix's genetics in dark color. We had great fun showing him this past year. We got to take home a championship in every single show we took him to. We feel so proud of him and hope you don't mind us bragging a bit.
