We are so thrilled with the crias Katmandu is giving us! They are exceptionally fine and bright with very long consistent staple. He is producing spot free greys that are not only incredibly fine, but simply stunning. He has passed along his very strong color and his black and grey cria are doing extremely well in the show ring. He not only has retained his fabulously dense, great handling fleece and good looks with great coverage well into maturity, Katmandu added another R Championship at 5 Years old! His fine fleeced density is holding strong. His crias also have incredible fineness and density. The fineness he's putting on the dark and greys that he's throwing is also proving to hold into year 2 just like his does (one daughter is 16.0mfd @2). As Dundee Farm said, "Not very often do you see a male of this caliber and pedigree for sale!" We want to heartily thank them for selling. Katman fits into our program perfectly and is part of our long range breeding goal. We selected him for his superior density, consistency, fineness, and incredible shine & staple length. Not to mention his handsome look overall. Plus he has a very strong black gene noted by his very solid, deep, non-fading dark coloring and lineage. When you put your hands on his fleece, you can't help but say wow. His extremely bold crimp style can be felt as soon as you touch him. As you run your hands up into his topknot, you realize that he carries his fleece density and quality through. He is quite humble though and doesn't mind the compliments :) Dundee bred their 2x Champion Othello daughter, Nocturna (Tina) to 4x Champion The Reverend Mr. Black shortly after they both took the Black Color Championships at the Great Western Alpaca Show in 2005. Expectations were high and I don't think anyone was disappointed. This true black son of these two remarkable alpacas won a Reserve Championship in his first show. He was first out of 15 and then won the Reserve out of over 40 black males. He won another Reserve Championship at the 2008 Mid America Show in a very tough class. At 5 years old he won another Reserve Championship at the 2010 Alpaca Blast Off! Katmandu's powerful genetics - Fandango, Bueno, The Reverend, Othello - say it all, especially to connoisseurs of elite black alpacas. Dundee Farm: "We are proud to have produced such an impressive male. There aren't many out there like him." We agree!

Dam: CHR Electra

Champion Producer

CHR Electra

Electra is a true treasure. She has been a fantastic foundation dam for us, giving us spectacular results each time. This is a girl who doesn't need a lot said about her because you can see what she does in her crias. She has produced a Color Champion and her offspring have racked up lots of ribbons, many of them blue! Her latest cria is going to be really fun to show, she's drop dead gorgeous. Electra has produced crias with great fineness (15 microns in their yearling year), beautiful coverage, always straight and strong conformation, and shine galore. Electra has been a very healthy nurturing mother. She is super trouble free and takes our Texas heat like a champ. Her milk is plentiful and her crias have always been healthy and grown well in addition to being beautiful. This girl has given us fantastic production and we hold her in very high regard. She would be an excellent addition to any program looking for excellent fineness in color. You have a lot of breeding options for Electra. It was too hot too early this summer to get her bred back, but she is ready to go this fall. We REALLY love her latest silver grey girl from Katmandu. We could never let Electra go if it weren't for this girl. We were tempted to just breed her right back to Katmandu! However, as we walked out to the breeding pen, we walked past 5x Champ Snowmass Velvet Royale and it hit us; with his supreme density, ultra fineness and grey genetics from his sire, the one and only, Snowmass Royal Rose (sire to Xxxtreme and Royal Challanger)...it would be a fantastic combination. So, that's what we did. We proudly offer her for sale with this breeding.

Snowmass Matrix Madness

His crias are here and winning big in the ring with many Championships and ribbons. We could not be happier or more excited about them. Both our own, those of our clients and our co-owner Snowmass Alpacas. If you had to describe them in one word...well you couldn't. But you can say that they are very true to type in head and body style. Supremely fine and shiny. Ultra bright and very dense. I know we tend to over use all those descriptors, but we invite you to take a look at his colorful crias and see for yourself. So far he seems to be throwing the color of the dam and adding tremendous fleece density, bone size, fleece coverage, brightness, and of course fineness. Julie Skinner at Snowmass tells us that her Madness cria was simply dripping with fleece from birth and was incredibly bright and fine. She said he was the quality that she would have expected from her top white herdsires! When you see Madness in person, you are blown away by his good looks, bone, body, and coverage. But he's more than just good looks on the outside. One prominent AOBA judge asked us for Madness' age and exclaimed "Holy *&@%" when we told him. He told us that he was finer in handle than most juveniles. We're in awe every time we part his fleece. He is incredibly consistent, (see the judges comments in the awards section). We are so grateful and appreciative that every judge we have shown him under has awarded him a Color Championship and have raved about his tremendous consistency. He is incredibly dense and fine and carries his wonderful fleece quality all throughout his body, down his legs, and up his neck to his topknot. The judges comments on him have been extremely flattering. We are very excited to have a partnership in this fabulous herdsire with Don and Julie Skinner at Snowmass Alpacas. We were so devastated when we lost our wonderful herdsire Snowmass Porteus and so grateful that they invited us to co-own the male that they themselves kept in order to replace Porteus on their own ranch as well as to continue on Matrix's genetics in dark color. We had great fun showing him this past year. We got to take home a championship in every single show we took him to. We feel so proud of him and hope you don't mind us bragging a bit. We invite you to visit and take a look at this guy, we're just "mad" about him ;)

Description

What a beautiful girl in every way...looks, fleece, conformation...Hooray! This is exactly what we wanted. We are sooooo excited about what Katmandu is producing. Great density in a grey fleece and deep consistent crimp with his wonderful fineness carrying through. Nice big bones and his beautiful fleece coverage and fuzzy ears. She's a gorgeous spot free medium silver grey. She's very shiny with lots of staple length and tons of fleece. She's a strong healthy young female with great potential. We wanted to highlight Katmandu's production and she is a star. Thank you for looking and please stop by to see her in person. We were very excited about her first breeding to our multi-Champion herdsire Snowmass Matrix Madness. We co-own him with Snowmass Alpacas and as his name implies he is the son of the record high selling Snowmass Matrix. Madness has absolutely everything you could want a herdsire to have. He is ultra consistent in his fleece qualities all the way down his hips to belly and to topknot. He is extremely dense and very fine. His dam is also the dam to Snowmass Porteus. She is known as the top daughter of the great grey Snowmass Casanova. So now you see why we're excited about this breeding. She gave us a gorgeous light brown boy with outstanding fleece style. At just 6 months old he exhibits a super shiny fleece with loads of organized character, fine handle, and he looks like he'll have the density of his sire! AND he got her ears :) What's even more exciting is that he carries lots of color and grey in his genetics. Allure is currently open and we'll breed her late fall. If you buy her before we rebreed her, you can choose the breeding! AND after that, you'll have access to our extensive herdsire line-up at 50% off for the rest of her life. Now here's the hard part....who do you choose????
