Velocity's offspring are taking the show string by storm and winning in the top of their classes with championships and several blue ribbons. At the 2009 AOBA National Show we showed his first offspring who went on to win a Reserve Championship in their very first show at just 8 months of age! His offspring are very impressive! They have correct conformation, presence, crimp, density and coverage not to mention long staple length and and abundance of fiber. We have looked very hard to find the next generation true black herdsire. We wanted a male that could compare to our multiple champion and champion producing true black herdsire, Dark Shaddow. Velocity's show credentials alone as a juvenile are very impressive! He is by far one of the best true black males we have come across outside of our own breeding program. Velocity has it all! He has excellent conformation. His fleece is very dense, very fine, bright and has a high frequency style crimp which is very uniform throughtout the blanket along with having a long staple length. Many breeders have watched us grow our black breeding program to becoming one of the best in the US. We believe that our choice of breeding decisions has lent us to the success we have. When considering how many true black males there are available for stud service that are of high quality producing high quality offspring, there really aren't too many. A male may have several championships of his own but not capable of producing his own quality or better. The proof of any herdsire is in the quality of offspring he produces and again we can say we are very impressed with what Velocity is doing for us so far and we believe you will too. Come and visit us at our farm or at shows and see the proof in this multiple champion's progeny.

Isabelle, being well conformed with a solid frame passes this feature to her cria. What we have found with her is the ability to carry that great frame into the breeding yet captures the outstanding fleece characteristics of the sire she was paired. She births unassisted, carries a good supply of milk seen in rapid cria development, and is a very attentive mother. Following are some examples of the fine cria Isabelle has produced: Wiyaka's staple length and density are the first characteristics we see in her fleece followed very quickly by architecture as soon as you part her fleece. Looking further, we found that the fleece character in her blanket carries throughout her fleece from her topknot to her tail to her toes. There is no halo when looking down her side and front. When you step back and review her overall confirmation, we are impressed with a uniform frame, good teeth set, and her stature. She has a very calm disposition that is a pleasure to be around. 1st shearing AFD=20.2 SD=5.4 2nd shearing AFD=23.2 SD=5.9 3rd shearing AFD=25.5 SD=6.4 4th shearing AFD=24.6 SD=6.6 Crescent Moon Velocity cria. Ozela's first impression comes when we hold him and the pleasant handle of his fleece and this continues as we open the fleece and see the architecture that is born out through his histogram with an First shearing histogram 1st shearing AFD=18.7 SD=4.4 2nd shearing AFD=22.9 SD=5.1 3rd shearing AFD=23.7 SD=5.8 4th shearing AFD=25.5 SD=5.9 Patagonia's Mondavi cria. Heyun, recently born, was stunning due to the bright, rich black fleece that already demonstrates the whorls we have seen in some of our best. As her fleece develops we see the bundles so prevalent in dense and fine alpacas. To this day she retains a soft buttery hand. 1st shearing AFD=19.7 SD=4.4 2nd shearing AFD=20.9 SD=4.7 3nd shearing AFD=26.3 SD=5.1 4th shearing AFD=26.4 SD=5.3 Patagonia's Mondavi cria. Excellence in all aspects

Description

MAMGB Wiyaka means Feather Down in Lakota. This name was well earned due to her fleece which is as soft as feather down. She has many crimp per inch, and density. Her blanket characteristics are uniform and carry into her legs, tail, and topknot. Recently assessed she had no guard hair! Pedigree. On the dams side is Knighthawk of KPR, Johnson S112, and The Kings Ransom. The sire is Cresent Moon Velocity, Cresent Moon Valentino, and Danko. Conformation. Her neck, body, and legs are in proportion to each other. She has a great frame on strong legs and an excellent bite. Fleece. AFD=23.2 and SD=5.9 with the average between the Min and Max of 3.55 demonstrates the consistency in what we see in her fleece. Combine this with her staple length and you end up with a lot of nice fleece. Disposition. Wiyaka has always been a mild mannered young lady with high energy. Today we see her developing into a reserved matron who knows her place in the herd. She is so relaxed that working with her is a joy. Even when pregnant she is tolerant of handling and just gets a little more stand-off-ish. She is BVD tested negative, has received her CD&T vaccinations, AVID chipped, and ARI registered. Georgia Meyer of Silver Creek Alpaca sorted and graded Wiyaka. She was impressed with her fleece and stated, "nice, uniform, most versatile for yarn, socks, and knitwear." She graded her WL-3 with 6 out of 10 brightness, 5 of 10 uniformity of crimp, 6 crimp / inch, medium amplitude with a density of 8 out of 10. She graded the fleece dark fawn. She delivered stunning medium to dark brown or dark fawn female September 6th, 2014 - Iyunka! She delivered stunning dark brown to bay black female June 18, 2016 - Uome. She delivered a stunning bay black/black male June 23, 2020 - Phesniza. We are retiring Wiyaka from our Reserved Breeding Program and are now seeking a farm that would like solid improvement in their production.
