We knew Butch was something special the minute he was born and he has only gotten better with age! Sporting his sire's (PLA Cool Hand Luke) heavy bone, perfect conformation and density, Butch has proven himself in the show ring. At the 2010 Mapaca Jubilee, he placed 4th in his juvenile class. Once shorn, we began to really sit up and take notice as he started to mature. We just returned from the 2010 OABA Alpacafest where the quality of white suri males is always exceptional and competition is extreme. Butch not only took first place in his previously shorn yearling class, but also managed to take the Championship under Judge Kathy Klay! We are so excited to have one of the few previously shorn alpacas to win a championship! Judges remarks included his size, conformation, heavy bone, re-growth, fineness and density appropriate for his fineness. Also mentioned were his amazing uniformity of lock and micron. It's always nice to place well in shows, but is especially nice to have won the Championship as a previously shorn animal - especially when you consider the high level of competion in this group! This outstanding group of white males included 5 Full Accoyos, and offspring from noted herdsires including Nolan Ryan, Torbio, and 3 Crown Royale sons! He also took home the Blue Ribbon in Bred and Owned Yearling Class, 1st in the Fleece Show(also Judges Choice - score 92.5!) and was a shown animal for our 1st Place Breeders Best Three Group! What a great way to end a show career!!
